Pita Potle — Restaurant in North Randall

Not long ago I left this place a glowing review, but after a recent bad doordash delivery experience that was not taken seriously by the owner and staff, I’m revising my 5 star review to a 1 star review. In total I spent $35.66 for this experience.

I enjoyed patronizing this place in person because the quality of their food was always exceptional and so was the customer service. However, my experience with ordering delivery for the first time was horrible. I ordered the rice and shrimp bowl and it had no peppers or onions and I ordered a strawberry cheesecake but received a slice of chocolate cake with a MOLDY strawberry in the container. I called the shop and complained and was told to come in the next day to resolve the issue because that’s when I would be able to stop by.

I went to the shop and instead of talking to the person I spoke with over the phone, I was met by an older gentleman who sarcastically told me that the slice of cake I brought back was not strawberry cheesecake. It’s like…no kidding bro! That’s why I’m here. Even once I told him there was a moldy strawberry with the wrong slice of cake they gave me, he didn’t seem alarmed or like he cared at all. Im sure him or none of the employees would take that slice of cake for their mothers to enjoy it, so why is it okay for me?

I decided to walk out. I refused to be spoken to sarcastically as if my concern about the food they delivered to me was my fault. I’m not sure what’s going on with them but it’s not good. I did, however, enjoy the few meals I had from there previously but I won’t be patronizing that place ever again. It’s disappointing that I didn’t even get a genuine apology for them giving me the wrong food and MOLDY food....

Pro - fresh vegetables, wide choice of veggies and friendly staff. Con - limited and crowded parking lot, no bathrooms for customers, limited beverage selection (all bottled or canned), very limited in store dining (five seat counter along front window - during the time of Covid-19 either sit with your Covid bubble or it becomes a two seat counter for proper social distancing), on my first visit, during a weekday, I had the staff recommended rib-eye steak bowl, the meat had a lot of gristle - very, very chewy - not a nice cut of meat. I dined in on this visit. The meat and grilled veggies were prepared in front of me on a flat top grill. Tasted very oily from being doused with a lot of cooking oil from a big plastic container. Selected from a large choice of fresh veggies from a selection right in front of me as additional toppings for my bowl These sides are fresh and great tasting. A great selection of various sauces/toppings. I came at lunchtime. Pita Polte has regular customers and is not crowded. Folks take their food away with them. Next door is a liquor store that had an endless stream of customers during the lunch hour. The liquor stores customers overwhelm the parking lot. The parking lot is too small to handle the liquor store's volume of traffic. No in-store bathroom is bad. Can not wash hands or go to bathroom. Why no bathroom? I may return for another meal. If I do return, it will be for vegetarian take-away. Not sure if I will return if the parking lot is over crowded with liquor store traffic. The Pita Polte is a business that has a great staff and some healthy and great tasting veggies. Their returning customers speak well...

My 2nd visit was a little different than my last visit (week or so ago), which was my first & was amazing in EVERY way! I am a patient person, but I have NO UNDERSTANDING of impatient people in food service! Ended up ordering wrong sides cause preparer took my order while waiting on someone else which blew my mind I like individual personal service because that’s what I give as a customer and I was also standing on the wall so I couldn’t see the offerings & the presentation is A1 so I was looking forward to seeing what was available but felt pressured to order fast although there was only one person behind me and I was willing to wait my turn! I’m kinda sad cause I love food and they food is good! Hopefully I will still enjoy my dish, but will def observe who’s working the counter before I get out my truck & decide to patronize each time next time! Patience and Consistency is key when dealing with others’ food please slow down to the tall guy, black baseball cap kinda low, black 3/4 length sleeve shirt! He was very nice just moved a little fast for a counter food preparer and was confusing the customers it was def different I called the person who took me there the 1st time soon as I was out of there cause it blew my mind! When the offerings are so plentiful, fresh and most importantly DELICIOUS & the product is A1, people will always return! Try to be more patient the others there have amazing attentive...
