Read the owner's response to my review of my experience at this pizza place. Instead of being apologetic or justifying their policy, the owner called me a liar, when in fact, the owner is lying by saying there wasn't a woman working the register; because there absolutely was a woman working the register that refused to take my $50 bill that Sunday evening and when I asked to speak with the manager, she said that she was the manager. This took place about 2017 or 2018 and have UPDATED my review. Apparently the "new owner" is as much of a liar as the previous owner, trying to convince people that my review is untrue, calling me a liar. Yes awhole, this is exactly what happened and I have updated my review because apparently there's absolutely no remorse for screwing over a working man when he's hungry and lying about it here. Ffokcuf Here's my review in full:
"Zero stars should be an option. I had been working extremely hard on a 12 hour day full of labor without a lunch. At the end of the day, I walked in, ordered a pizza. The owner seemed very abrasive, heartless and frankly acted like I was putting her out by asking questions and ordering food. I placed my order. One large pizza with a couple of toppings, extra cheese. I was told it'd be 45 minutes. I left, went back to work and came back 45 minute later, with an insatiable appetite. My pizza wasn't done for over an hour afterward (and they weren't very busy). When it was ready, I tried to pay for it. There were no signs that said that they would not accept $50 bills. That was all I had and the owner just refused to take United States legal tender currency, because she didn't know how to identify counterfeit currency. There are more than 10 different ways to verify it's real and she just said she wasn't going to learn how. Without any notice, she just refuses to take 50s. Well, that meant I wasn't getting the food I ordered and waited over an hour for. It was a Sunday evening in Highland. Nothing else was open. I will never forget your lack of reasonable business practices, your complete ignorance, lack of desire to learn, your arrogant attitude and how you treated me when I was hungered with no other place around to eat. Because of this and the fact that the owner lied in response to my review and said that I was lying, I will never patronize this establishment"
and I will be sure to let others know how the owner handles genuine, true criticism by lying in an attempt to pretend that my experience there didn't happen. I've flushed things with better integrity...

The only reason we called was because the online menu we found was incomplete.
I’m new to the area and a friend recommended Squigi’s pizza so my boyfriend decided to call and order a pizza.
The man answering the phone was the rudest, most un-informed employee. Prior to calling, my boyfriend looked up the menu but the one he found online was extremely limited so he opted to call and ask about sizes and order our pizza.
The man who answered didn’t speak English well and was beyond rude when my boyfriend was asking normal questions about ordering from them.
After providing his name and phone number, the employee asked if my boyfriend knew he was calling Squigi’s in highland. It seemed to be an issue that we gave a IL area code upon ordering.
Bf: how large are your sizes? Employee: small, medium large, etc… Bf: how many inches are the pizzas and people does a large serve? Employee: you know you’re calling squigi’s in highland right? Bf: yes.
At this point the employee puts my bf on hold without answering his question or taking an order.
Once off of hold, my bf asks the same questions about the pizza and the man becomes rude and repeats the sizes without actually answering the question.
My bf is bilingual and at this point my bf asks if the man speaks Spanish bc it is clear the employee is not understanding English at this point or does not care enough to answer. He was trying his best with this employee who refused to answer normal pizza-ordering questions and thought maybe speaking in Spanish instead might make communication easier.
Finallyyyyyy after a long struggle with the employee we just opt to order a large pizza. We place that into our order and the employee asks if we would like anything else. I ask to add breaded zucchini. The employee gets rude YET AGAIN and states the location is in highland, IN. I don’t know why this is relevant. My bf explains we cannot see the online menu and that’s why he’s asking questions.
The employee then hangs up on the call. We tried calling back but they would no longer answer.
If you’re new to the area, avoid this location!
I highly recommend the extremely friendly staff at Danny Z’s in the area who had no issues whatsoever answering the same questions and providing a tasty meal when Squigi’s staff FAILED...
Read moreFirst off I wanna start by saying I am new to the area! I ordered 40 bucks worth of Pizza and bread sticks! I was unhappy with the bread sticks they were hard and sauce was cold. My family was unhappy with the taste, it was too sweet! So I didnt want to loose 40 bucks so I brought it back to squigi's. The owner herself said since I ordered from door dash(online) she could not refund my money! Which is very shady, when a customer is unhappy u as a owner should make it right! She refused then called the police which was her son for him to tell me it was doordashes problem! How is it a middle mans fault the pizzas were not up to par! Long story short I lost out on 40 dollars and learned a valuable lesson! They will never get my business again! Also after going inside the place I seen how unsanitary it was! She was using the phone and then spreading cheese on pizzas everything was jus out uncovered! Didnt believe i seen her with any gloves! Her attitude was very...
