White Castle — Restaurant in North Township

Went in this evening and tried to order 3 large shakes at the drive thru. Mind you, their new drive thru is AI run, which is already a downfall in my opinion, but I told the AI I wanted two large strawberry shakes and one large chocolate shake, to which the AI responds "sorry, failed to add half gallon of strawberry hi-c to your order." At this point I was fed up and just drove to the window to order. The young female at the window had a RBF already as I told her the AI wasn't understanding my order, and as I'm trying to tell her what my order was, another young female worker came up and told me they didn't have strawberry shakes. I told them nevermind then and began to pull off, only to hear one of them snap "okay then. Whatever."

Like? Don't get a job that requires customer service if you cannot handle having a decent attitude toward people. I didn't have an attitude whatsoever. I told her what the issue was, and when I was told they didn't have it I said nevermind and left. Didn't throw a fit or anything. They rushed the grand opening, and it will eventually end up backfiring on them. They were in no way ready to open up yet, but...

This White Castle has pretty great customer service in my few encounters with it. My kiddos love the waffles or mozzarella sticks and fried from time to time. They greet you properly again when you get to the window. They clearly do well to check your order. I’ve noticed that they are very consistent with how well the service is and that’s a huge plus in my book for a fast food chain. The manager is very engaged and I noted that twice on two separate occasions. The only very small gripe I have is that they don’t consistently add salt to your fries but I’m starting to think that may be something they’re implementing for health and safety purposes or are they just trying to save salt lol I don’t know but 4 stars for this White Castle because of their great service, they handle orders very well, they are literally living up to their fast food purpose. Location is a bit annoying as far as entering and exiting but they make up for lack in customer service and serving that food nice well cooked and fast. I waited for the hype to die down before trying the new version of our beloved local White Castle. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The person working the counter was not friendly. My father is a senior citizen. When my father went to give her a card to pay for it, she said "You can do it yourself" in a rude tone and pointed to the machine. To understand how long the history goes back with this particular restaurant, my grandfather worked at the old one in the 40's. We know what an original slider should taste like. The sliders were dry, the buns had a crisp texture, and minimal onions. They were pretty much tasteless. I don't know if it's because the cooking surface is new and therefore not seasoned, but the sliders lacked character. I should of known something was wrong when my car didn't reek of that familiar slider aroma on the way home and I didn't have gas the next day. Oh well, the restaurant looks nice. Hopefully if enough people check them on this, we can have the best of both worlds, delicious sliders, a nice place to eat them and farts that can...
