Family Dollar has been my household item stock-up store for several years.
As I was in this area, I noticed the availability and went in.
Fortunately it wasn't crowded, and unlike many inderserved Chicago communities, there was no outside "Covid line".
. Unlike most Chicago area Family Dollar Stores, the ailes were neat and clean. Shelves were plentiful and BAGS. Big bags.
Being offered big bags at a Family Dollar in Chicago is a rarity... They NEVER have any, and consumers juggle multiple tiny bags to haul away household items.

After the money changed hands, we were told if our car is in the parking lot we better move it quickly, because the tow truck is coming. I told the cashier and manager, "but I'm in your store shopping. I am purchasing items from your store." I was told since our transaction was completed, if our car is not moved it will be towed. We walked outside when the tow truck arrived, and the manager told the driver to tow everything, but her red vehicle. I was at the festival the whole day. I purposely watched the other store parking lots. Family Dollar was the only store with a tow truck there all day. As someone with a business degree, and who works at a college. This is one of the worst display of customer service I have experienced in a long time. To anyone going to a Whiting festival. DO NOT park in their parking lot, and better yet DO NOT SHOP at this store. *The rest of town seems...

Please find something better to do with your time and not treat everyone as if theyāre going to steal. Signs on the door saying you canāt even bring bags inside the store....
