A diner in the front and a party in the back. You can choose to sit in the actual original Worcester Diner with (very) upright wooden booths and chromed counter stools or in the main dining room, with tables, booths, and many many persons who enjoy a good fruit cup. There's the bar room, which is convenient if you want to watch someone make your drink, and also has a TV, in case you like to watch Bar Rescue while you trust that the Bluebonnet's bar back and kitchen will never appear on that program. The whole place has a low-key railroad theme. There's a big, very basic function hall attached too. That's the party part. The menu is broad and features all the usual diner fare. The food we had was good, and we enjoyed the banter among staff and regulars as we ate. We did not have cocktails, since we were there for breakfast and lunch. The wait staff are perfect for a diner; attentive, friendly and range from hometown young women and guys who've grown up working there to a batch of blondes who have been serving up eggs and club sandwiches for decades. They probably know what you're going to order when hey see you walk through the door. My only cavil is the chilly the air conditioning in the dining room - brrr. But, Mom always warned us to take a sweater! We recommended...

We were a party of 5, we all got breakfast and we've NEVER seen a restaurant get breakfast wrong. All diners have fresh eggs except this one! They had to have been a container of pre-whisked eggs, the breakfast burrito was leaking watery egg juice, and they were very pale, everyone got a stomach ache after finishing our meals. The vegetables in the omelettes, and burrito tasted like they came from a can, bland, flavorless, not cooked in a pan.
Now on to the homefries. I've never had dry homefries before, they were undercooked, hard and under seasoned, tasted like they were put in a pan for 5 minutes then microwaved.
The waffles were not fresh at all! They tasted like they were frozen and put into a toaster. Wasn't crispy, wasn't fluffy, tasted like a pita cracker. The chicken for the chicken and waffles were processed chicken tenders, and tasted like they were thrown in a airfryer.
In conclusion, their staff needs to train their cooks better and upgrade their ingredients because this is not acceptable for the price that we paid for for breakfast, would not eat here again!
Our waitress did incredible service though and we...
Read moreWhat an enjoyable meal, Split Pea soup, Fried Chicken, Coconut Cream pie, and TRAINS! Took the drive up and I was so pleased! The Split pea soup really tasted homemade, I wish I got another bowl. I wondered about the "BROASTER CHICKEN" well they cornered the market! It was easily THE BEST CHICKEN I have ever had! I kept looking at it as I ate it! SO GOOD! I I wish I got more! I ended my meal with a great cup of coffee and a slice of coconut cream pie! LOL! I wish I got more! Such a perfect meal. I must mention that the entire staff was so nice. Our waitress, Carly was so attentative and sweet and I love when you can hear the entire staff laughing and getting along. Says so much about management! :) Last but not least! I happen to be a train fan and there are so many beautiful pics of trains, and an actual working train that goes around the top of the main dining area and if you come through the front which is an old fashion dining car leave through the back and pull the train horn on your way out! Thank you guys for making our trip up a lot nicer! WILL BE...
