I have really mixed feelings about this place, to be completely honest. My wife had a London Fog they enjoyed from here on a midweek daytime visit. The cafe drink menu is extensive, fwiw, though pastry selection is limited. For one, it feels very much like what it is, if that thing is "coffee shop/bar attached to a cannabis dispensary." I came in the midmorning on a Wednesday and there wasn't anyone else there, so maybe the vibe makes more sense when they're a speakeasy, but I was confused by the furnishings which definitely cater more to the bar crowd than the cafe crowd. Both cafes and speakeasies evoke a measure of warmth to me, and in my single, perhaps isolated experience with this place, the warmest thing about it was the lovely, friendly barista. Everything is grey aside from an orange accent wall, and the furniture looks like it was procured in equal parts from Wayfair and Facebook Marketplace. I did order a cold brew, and it was very tasty, but more expensive than an equivalent item at nearby competitors. I'll have to come back in the evening on the weekend and see if the cocktails are where this place...
Read moreI've come here to the cafe a couple times and really enjoyed it. The seats are comfy and there was no music playing on any of my visits. This works really well for me to get things done. I was really disappointed Sunday I showed up after Google said they were open (8am on a Sunday). They were not open. Their website says they were actually open at 7am, which is also not accurate. I really like this place and I understand there are staffing shortages. However, the information about when they're open really needs to be accurate.
Edit: made it in to visit again! Looks like there's music here after all. It's not too disruptive, but for anyone else who is looking for a music free cafe, I thought I'd update...
Read moreWe spent the morning there, had a muffin, mini quiche, and 4 different hot and cold drinks, all very good. High quality locally-owned coffee drinks on King Street I have been waiting for. The cappuccino was authentic (not a latte), the London Fog and fresh lemonade delicious, the muffin big, light and tasty. The atmosphere is unique and welcoming. Check out the unusual decorative books. The music was unobtrusive and escapable (I believe coffee houses are for conversation, especially now that earbuds exist). The furniture super comfortable. It's wonderful to finally find good espresso without going downtown. Have to try the live music and cocktails some...
