Went here because I was told this is the best Banh Mi in the area. The service was good from everyone but one guy (possibly owner) that was talking loudly on the phone and getting frustrated over a paper towel dispenser not being able to open up. Look I get that things happen at a restaurant but maybe try figuring out your issue somewhere other than the dining area.

Let talk about the food. I was expecting a lot from this place due to the reviews and photos. The spring rolls were amazing, I would recommend that to anyone (as long as you do not have a peanut allergy). The peanut sauce was very good and the shrimp tasted fresh 9/10. The Banh Mion the other hand was very Meh. We ordered both the Saigon and the Pork Belly, both tasted exactly the same. The only difference was that the Saigon had a different consistency in texture due to the ham. I took this to go and asked for sauce before leaving and the lady said “there’s already sauce on the sandwiches”. I didn’t think there was an adequate amount on either sandwich (if any).

What I can say about this place is that you can tell the staff take pride in their work and that is something I hope everyone can respect. Look this place may be an amazing experience for you and I definitely want you guys to come and see for yourself if this food is worth your time. I unfortunately didn’t experience anything worth while here. I’m sure if I came back and tried something different, I’d find something I really like (for instance the...

Food was good, very authentic, but leaves much to be desired due to smaller portion sizes compounded with higher prices when compared to Vietnamese restaurants in Argyle. I had the pho dac biet with a side of ox tail. Pho broth was spot on and delicious. The size of the bowl of pho is comparable to a “small” in other Viet restaurants, but the $15 price tag is even more than the typical “pho xe lua” size at other places in Chicago. That’s the trade off you have to make for it being conveniently located in the burbs. The ox tail was not cooked long enough and very tough. It is supposed to be fall of the bone tender. Flavors were all there, it just needed to be cooked slow and low. It has a lot of potential to be great, but missed the mark this time. Another in my party had the bun bo cha gio. The portion size of this was very good - came in a larger bowl than my pho and was packed with veggies, beef, and noodles. I was told it was very good as well. They should use these larger bowls for the pho too. The cha gio that came with the dish was embarrassingly tiny - about half the size of what normal cha gio should be. Think skinnier but same length. I understand inflation and needing to cut costs, but this was a little overboard. All in all, a very good spot to get a Viet food fix if you can’t make the drive out to Argyle. If you have time to spare though, I’d suggest skipping this place and going to Broadway and Argyle street for a better...

A big disappointment on service, but pho broth was good. After a long day at 6 flags, me and my boyfriend decided to give this place a try since it was close to our hotel. We got there and there was only a couple that was already eating. We ordered our food and waited for 20 mins and then more people dined in and they got their food right away. Waited for another 20 mins because my boyfriend told me to be patient and to not be a “karen”… the server made eye contact with my boyfriend and we thought she was going to bring our food. However, that wasn’t the case. She came back and said there was a “confusion” with our order in the kitchen… but all we ordered was two phos (one with oxtail) and 2 bahn mi’s to go. Obviously the server didn’t put our orders in and lost our order. She never said sorry!! After i asked how much longer we had to wait because we have been waiting for almost an hour and after I complained, she then said we will get free drinks on the house. At that point, I don’t even care for drinks. I just wanted my food after waiting for 40+ mins. I’m a reasonable person, but when the server lied and said there was a confusion with our small order, i knew she wasn’t honest. Just be honest and say you forgot about our order. Would never...

This is another of our son's "culinary discoveries" in the Chicago suburbs. It's a winner! The service is friendly and professional. The decor is bright and colorful. Most important for a restaurant, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. We ordered some lunch specials: mini lemongrass chicken with rice ($9.99) and mini steak pho ($8.99). We also ordered banh mi bo kho (beef stew, $11.99). The stew was savory and came with two hunks of French bread. The chicken was freshly cooked and the lemon grass flavor was very subtle. The presentation was colorful (see picture below). The pho was more than my wife could eat, so she enjoyed the rest of it for lunch the next day. One of us also enjoyed a plastic cup filled with Vietnamese iced coffee (similar to Thai coffee). Our table caddy contained green plastic chop sticks; metal forks; sriracha sauce; sweet chili sauce; hoisin sauce. Bamboo poles and large color photos of Vietnam's countryside decorate the wall. Faux native sun hats serve as lamp shades. Behind the cash register hang three large posters of TinTin book covers. We hope this modest, family owned restaurant will survive the tough food-service business.

Reminiscent of Vietnam A spot that is deserving of recognition within the area. Recently Coming back from my home country Vietnam, Long An is highly reminiscent of the food I had; especially their bun cha noodles.. from the savory grilled nem patty and fried eggrolls, nuoc mam perfecty adjusted for taste, the herbs and noodles.. all combined together to satisfy the palate with a rich flavorful experience. They really nailed down the dish just like Vietnam. The authenticity in the food is what keeps me coming back every time I go to Chicago.. I would drive a 45 minutes from downtown just for this place. The owners of the restraunt (Brad and Lily) are lovely people! Their hospitality shines after my visits: they will take care of you and make you feel welcomed as if you are in someone’s home. Highly recommend the place for those who are seeking authenticity in Vietnamese cuisine. Will be coming back here next time I’m in thre area!
