Prefacing this with- never ate at the restaurant… but was terrified to even eat based on how we were treated. Guessing the food is as subpar as the service.
I totally understand the fact that most restaurants are understaffed these days… but that doesn’t excuse poor service…
When we came to the restaurant, it wasn’t crowded when we arrived. There were plenty of open tables…
We sat down and proceeded to sit with our menus for well over 15 min. No one came to give us water, take a drink order, appetizer order…I imagine you can get the picture.
I went to the host stand to ask for service… the host said he would find someone to take our order.
In the meantime, another table with a group of similar size was seated next to us. They told us that they sat even though they were warned of the fact that the restaurant was understaffed…. We were not given that same courtesy warning…
But that’s not the kicker…. Yes, that’s a punchline to a very bad joke…. they were approached by the server before us!
When I asked if he could take our order, his RUDE response was that he wasn’t our waiter…. AND that he would NOT help us! I get it… we weren’t in his “section.” In all candor, couldn’t he have thrown us a bone and taken our drink order, or offer to get a manager to help us before helping this other table????
I was with family, but decided that enough was enough and left with my immediate family. There was no way I was going to eat there after getting spoken to like that. What was to stop them from doing something unsavory or inappropriate with my food if they thought they could talk to a customer like that????
If you want to eat at a place that is being operated by a bunch of juveniles with very little common sense and peas for their brains, enjoy your meal…. Otherwise, this place is not worth your...
Read moreI love this restaurant! I lived next door nearly for years and never dinned, because I cook a lot and the Northshore is expensive. However, my first encounter here was as an employee of the local school district. The Corporate event in the room was great. I arrived late but still received except service. We had our own waiter last and waitresses. I recommend them for Corpirate celebrations and events. I was stumped about just what the company paid for, but I didn’t mind paying for my burger after I tasted it, because it was good with lots of fries. I took some home.
At the end of the pandemic, I had occasion to order fried chicken strips (I don’t fry at home a lot) for the children, they were delicious! We order that a few times on Fridays for their end of the week celebrations.
I recently went and heard their specials because I sat in the restaurant instead of taking out as I usually did in the past. My sister ordered the taco special with steak with two sides and she almost completed her meal but had some to take home. She enjoyed the meal. I was on sift diet and ate Mac and cheese. It was filling and very tasty( I hate Mac and Cheese in public because I make homemade, but North Branch’s can hold it own! I had some to take home and it was even better the next day. They acquired a new location a couple of years into the pandemic at the ice skating rink in Glenview (I never got to try this location and I lived across the street-I like the one in the corner) Beyond the food the atmosphere and decor are suitable for a great dinning experience. . This was the best kept secret in my backyard. I’m glad I got to have...
Read moreTerrible experience here. Online on Google, it says they are open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday night and it says these hours were confirmed 3 weeks ago with the business. It was a Friday night and I got there at 9:30pm and was told I should sit in the bar area. I waited about 15 min for someone to come to my table. I wasn't in a big hurry and I had my laptop with me so I could do some work while I waited. They were busy, but since they were open until 11pm, I wasn't concerned. Finally a waitress with long, messy unkept dreadlocks pinned on her head came to my table with a terrible attitude. She informed me the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes so many things weren't going to be available. She went to get my drink and came back and said that the tea and coffee had already been broken down (broken down?) and she couldn't serve me either. I looked around at an almost full restaurant and told her I found it hard to believe that no one would be drinking tea in here. This isn't just a pizza and beer place. This is a full service restaurant serving salmon, Ahi tuna, pasta dishes, salad, hamburgers and fries, sandwiches and pizza. It was quite obvious that I came in too close to closing time and she didn't want to take another table, so she got her wish, I left without ordering and found another place to dine right across the street. The hours need to be updated online and the staff needs some training in customer...
