What happened to Maestro? I recently had an extremely disappointing experience while celebrating my father's birthday on Sunday brunch. It was a small group of people, and we expected a memorable meal, but instead, we were left frustrated, upset and hungry.
First and foremost, for the hefty price of $90 per person, we were shocked by how little food was served. The portions were meager and certainly didn’t live up to the price tag. On top of that, 80% of the dishes listed on the menu were completely missing and were substituted with really cheap offerings: flat bread, etc. All hot appetizers were served to the plate and the size of servings were minuscular.
The food was bland, under seasoned, and honestly, some of it was just plain inedible. A few of us even became ill shortly after eating, which is incredibly concerning, especially for an event meant to be a special celebration.
We did try to resolve the situation by calling the owner? (Boris), hoping for some kind of explanation or compensation. Unfortunately, all we received was an apology. That was it. No effort to make things right, just empty words.
Adding to our disappointment, the entertainment and service were far below the standards this place used to deliver. The live music that was once a highlight of dining here failed to create the lively atmosphere we remembered. Moreover, the server seemed indifferent and inattentive, which only added to the overall negative experience.
I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you’re looking for good food, a satisfying experience, and value for your money, stay far away from here. My family and I certainly won’t...
Read moreFantastic lunch menu, very reasonable and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Setting is elegant and serene. We got the chicken marsala and the potato-crusted cod. Both were perfectly prepared and served with roasted potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. Mine came with soup, clam chowder loaded with clams, as well as a salad. My husband got the fantastic Russian beet salad. For some reason, although the menu says that entrees are served with soup and salad, my husband was charged $4 for the soup. The waiter said it was not a mistake--although the menu says that all entrees are served with soup and salad. In any case, lunch runs in the 10 to 15 dollar range and is a fantastic deal for...
Read moreThis restaurant is in a very off the beaten path spot. It alarmed me when we were able to get reservations easily on a Friday night... but it was a unique and enjoyable dining experience. The food was excellent. I definitely enjoyed the solenya, an assortment of Russian pickled vegetables. The shrimp escargot appetizer was great. The rack of lamb, perfect. The decor hasn't been updated since the 70s, I think. And the waiter was terrible. We would have ordered more drinks if he'd been at all attentive. The side salad was sad. But except for the service and salad, the experience was great and it was nice having the place nearly...
