What a great find! Literally this has become our favorite Chinese spot and we've tried everywhere in a 20 miles radius. It is tucked away behind the Greek restaurant and it is amazing! The owner Lady is sooo nice and truly sooo generous. The menu has soo many options and choices it's such a treat! They even have all day specials which is unheard of. In addition they were able to make some allergy accommodations for us as well as dietary restrictions for my Dad which was so kind. Super friendly and respectful over the phone and grateful for the business when we picked up. Smelled amazing when we walked in to take our order for carry-out. We got 4 meals, 5 appetizers and 2 large soups with some other items for less then $80 which fed over 8 hungry adults and 1 child and we had leftover. If you ask for spicy tell them how hot because they will make it smoking hot and it was incredible to have that heat and flavor in the hunan chicken dish. Also recommend the Mongolian beef, chicken udon noodles, seafood mixed vegetables foo yong,, their soups are all delicious, crab rangoon was crispy but creamy yet lots of crab inside, great potstickers and chicken and beef on a stick. I hated egg rolls after my pregnancy and this is the only place that has ones I like. Great prices for the quality and portions you receive. We usually do carry out and continue to love more and more of their flavorful food. Give this local family business your support, you won't be...
Read moreUsed to be 5 stars, I am mainly a carry out so I'm going to ignore customer service details since most of my experience comes from the quality of food only. Shrimp has gotten smaller and a bunch of filler vegetables replaced most of the sauce in a variety of dishes. Even the sauce itself lost impact as it tastes hollow compared to its former recipe. Most dishes were altered in a way that makes them inferior to the former. I assume the costs for each dish was reduced and they kept the same price. It tastes fine but my family enjoys quality meals or we would cook it ourselves. It's a disappointment but the food is passable.
From what I heard though the customer service has improved so props to that.
Once again I would like to emphasize the taste has went from explosive to dull. Even the treatment to the vegetables is different. They might cook it for a shorter time, making the harder vegetables noticeably less... soft. The place went from 9/10 to 7/10. It's simply acceptable and...
Read moreGreat American Chinese mom & pop restaurant with limited seating. When I arrived to pick up food, the front entrance seemed closed.
I had an orange chicken lunch with pork fried rice. For an overall comparison, I'd compare them to be roughly on par with China Style (Hunan) over by Lake Zurich.
The food arrived hot and steamy. The orange chicken actually tasted like there was orange in it instead of some kind of overly sweet syrup. There's fair portions for the price, but I'd personally bump up the pricing for the sake of passing that $10 CC limit. (For convenience) I'd also invest just a little bit more on the plastic utensils, but you do you.
I opted into having some spicy pork fried rice but I think I might've been unlucky today. It's less spicy than lao gan ma. Pretty tasty though, the side noodles were a great addition to lap up the rest of the orange...
