Cakewalk — Restaurant in Northfield

07-15-22 Went in to see what they had for scones for the day. Were 3 people waiting, one lady being helped. Very thin girl with blond hair in a pony, the only employee out assisting, while 3 others in the back. The lady checking out told me "yes, I waited awhile to be helped. Not sure why no one in the back coming out to just help her. Maybe getting ready for Crazy Days". We then asked the employee when was Crazy Days, which we found out was not that day or day before. Lady and I laughed and said "guess it's not that then". The employee was ringing her out, then had to take everything out of the bag for some reason, to figure out if she rang something up. I looked and 2 more people had come in. I turned, walked out and told the lady waiting with me at the time, "good luck, you're going to need it". Those 2 people that had just walked in, walked out with me hearing that one poor employee counting what was in the customer's bag. Heading to Hideaway for a scone!!

I understand girls in back baking and getting things ready, but if they really cared about the customers, at least one could have come out to help that poor girl take care of the "paying customers ", though 3 of us walked out. Customer service for sure will outweigh your...

I haven't stepped foot in this place since it first opened. I fully regret that now. Not for the reasons you think! I'm now obsessed with the soft fun cookies they have. I got $21 worth of fun cute little desserts. I don't regret that purchase! The frosting on the cookies is absolutely to die for. No joke. It's a soft cookie, but not too soft. The frosting is a light buttery cream cheese flavored frosting. No weird aftertaste with the cookie! The frosting has no weird thickness either. I was a little scared by trying this big cookie. But I have no regrets about it. It may look like it would taste awful or even have a weird texture. But I promise it's one of the best cookies you'll try! I will be coming back! I've had mixed experiences here when ordering cake. They created a beautiful cake for my daughter's baptism but I couldn't be more dissatisfied with the cake and cupcakes I received for my daughter's birthday. I showed them a photo of a smash cake with a thick pink border and received a white cake with a thin blue and yellow border. I discussed having cupcakes with pink frosting with maybe some accents of blue, and ended up with white frosting with green sprinkles. They matched nothing and guests just sort of laughed about it. I will not order cake or cupcakes there again, but might visit to get a cupcake from their case if I am shopping downtown.
