Froggz — Restaurant in Northfield

My wife Lisa and I dropped in a few years ago (I'm an Ole) and at that time service was terrible, took over an hour.

This time we came down the little circular stairs, as the main floor is still closed, for smash burgers. $10 each, very tasty, fresh California toppings. I upgraded to fries for $3 and they were tasty, a bit greasy, obviously made from good potatoes.

They also now have a variety of hemp-oriented beverages. I am not currently drinking, except I may have one of those.

The brother of the owner served us and answered a few questions. The three co-owners acquired it in 2021 when the prior owner, who was already mismanaging it, opened during COVID lock-downs and lost her liquor license.

We are very happy for the change. These locals seem to know how to run the place, and want it to become a home away from home for folks. A little cheesy, but yeah I like this place. Hope they get the main floor up and running.

This weekend my family and I wanted to enjoy dinning out, on a patio sitting in the sun. WTH, when did smoking pot and Cigarettes where food is consumed become acceptable practice (oh that's right in Northfield, MN) REALLY! The wait staff was sitting on the same deck as we were smoking pot, the customers were smoking pot, they literally did not see us sit down in front of them. Even though, we talked to most of the wait staff as we came through making our way to the outside deck. From what is could see Froggz has 3 decks put the Pot smokers on one the cigarette smokers on another and the people that merely want to enjoy the sun, some food and drink on the next deck. Seriously, I know Northfield does not need my money and I'm sure there are a lot of the younger generation that doesn't even "care" but I wanted you all to know How disappointed I am with this (new) spot and I personally will...

This was our first visit. We both ordered a hamburger with fries. Very unimpressed with the burger… mine was a burger patty on a bun… nothing else. No lettuce. No onion, no tomato. I guess if you want anything of those things you have to ask specifically. Server never came back to check on us. The hand cut fries were very good, but I am not impressed when the serving size ($3 upcharge) is enough to serve 4-5 people.. a huge waist of food! I had to go up to the counter and exchange my Diet Coke for a water as it had a very ODD taste to it. The employee did take the Diet Cokes off our bill.
