Easily my new favorite pizzeria. Happy to find a non-chain shop that's just been doing one thing for the last 28 years: making tasty pizza. Had 2 large 2 toppers and an order of their cheesy garlic knots. Total spent was $43 which is pretty fair considering it easily fed 4 people with a couple slices left over.
The knots are better than any breadsticks from other places, btw. The pizza was baked well and the toppings were plentiful, but not too much where it felt overwhelming. I really liked their sauce. Not sure but it definitely had some subtle notes that made it taste unique. The pepperonis had lots of flavor and just the right amount of grease. They weren't lean but they weren't just rivers of grease either. The alfredo sauce was beautifully smooth and creamy and really paired well with the chicken and bacon.
If you love pizza bones (crust) then you'll be happy to know the bones are good! Not the most flavorful but definitely more than just plain dough. If you don't like crust, don't worry! It's not the biggest or thickest crust out there. I think it's just right.
Inside the pizzeria legit feels like a 90s time capsule and I'm absolutely here for it. The menu is even one of those plastic letter boards you can pick and pull letters and numbers from. And the smells are exactly what you expect from a pizzeria. Nothing out of the ordinary, just good pizza smells.
I'm a little confused on what style of pizza it is, though. So, they claim to be New Jersey style, right? I've never been to NJ but the internet tells me those weirdos put the sauce ontop of the cheese. Eew. HOWEVER, this pizza definitely was normal and had the cheese ontop of the sauce like how pizza was intended to be made. So if you don't like NJ style pizza, no fears! This is definitely a NY style pizza. If you like your sauce ontop of your cheese, then you're just wrong and there's no helping you.
If you want a top notch pizzeria that isn't trying to pretend to be anything other than a great pizzeria,...
Read moreI ordered online, for pickup, 9 pizzas. It was showing me a pickup time of 11:20, which was too early but it didn't let me change that to a later time, so I reached out directly to the store as soon as they opened. I was told this was a big order and without advance notice, it would be a push to have done by the time I needed, which was 1140. I almost begged...lol! I really wanted to introduce their pizza to my coworkers. I asked if he could at least shoot for 12 instead of 1230(original negotiated time) and success, he said ok, he would do what he could. I showed up a few minutes before 12, prepared to have to wait. When I walked in, I announced who I was and he said.... the last pizza is just coming out of the oven! My apologies for pushing for a big order in a short amount of time(lesson learned) but excellent job getting them out ahead of what you said you could do. I was fully prepared to be told my order was cancelled, so thank you! In the end, the pizza was fantastic and my coworkers loved it and it sounds like you may have a few more...
Read moreBeen ordering from here for years. Tonight ordered yet another pizza and was originally quoted 1hr delivery time. After waiting an 1 hour and 20min called to see what was going on. The owner then told us the pizza was on its way. We requested a discount, got one and said thank you. 25min later we called again and the owner denied telling the original caller that the pizza was leaving but that it had just got out of the oven. She told me that “it’s not like we live close by” even though we live 8min away according to Google Maps. This all would have been fine and understandable if the delivery man had not said upon handing me the pizza that they would no longer deliver to us. I was and still am shocked. Have done business here for years and never spoken anything but highly of them. Never been treated with less respect from a family business. It’s a shame their food is so good because their total disregard for customers, shocking disrespect, and poor excuse for customer service is...
