Was very excited for this place, it was overall decent, but unfortunately fell short in a few aspects.
Nothing spectacular, but it scratches the itch for dumplings if you need a fix. I’ve had many dumplings & make them at home, and while these are by no means bad, they’re not amazing for a place that specializes in them. However, the casual ambiance of the establishment sort of tells you it’s more a quick to-go dumpling spot in the first place.
Ordered on their kiosk, and they missed our order, despite us checking in multiple times, it was about an hour and a half before we got our food. They gave us free bao to make up for it, and we understand they just opened and are working out kinks.
Pan fried pork dumplings were good, fried well, skin was good texture, and flavor was good.
Steamed dumplings were fine.
Xiao long bao: they come STACKED on each other, which, if you have ever had XLB know should not be possible for a good dumpling with thin skin and soup inside. So that was a foreshadowing. Likely frozen, unfortunately.
I want them to do well, and hopefully improve since they just opened, so I am leaving a hopeful 4 stars, though overall...
Read moreSuper disappointed. This place has such good reviews, we came at 4ish on a Saturday. The food was boring. My hot and sour soup was pretty much just shitake mushroom flavor, no richness no sour, just kinda peppery and bland.
My girlfriend ordered the Beef Noodle Soup and there were two hairs in it. One of them was short and grey one was about 6inches long and dark black. When we pointed out there was a hair in the food first the guy tried to deny that it came from them even though it obviously wasn't my short brown hair or my girlfriend's thinner longer dyed hair.
After making her feel bad about pointing out the hair in the first place and making us both uncomfortable, they replaced it with a different soup that was just super bland.
We stuck around for a bit and tried our best to enjoy the $45 we had spent on lunch but in the end we left without finishing because of the service experience.
I was going to at least get a lid to take the bland soup home and fix it up for her since I have everything I need to make it at home anyway, but it took like 10 minutes of waiting for anyone to come out front before I just left and...
Read moreRecommended for catering order. Kiki handled our order and made suggestions for dishes. Cucumber and wood ear mushroom salad; spicy Dan Dan noodles; veggie, pork and chicken egg rolls, sweet bao buns - taro and egg custard; Lotus leaf chicken sticky rice and beef pies. They provided a discount for our bulk order. And they delivered to our location which was the best! Included serving tongs and condiments. The homemade chili sauce was delicious and spicy. Napkins and some boba drinks rounded the order up. The boba drinks were tasty and cold. I drank mine up right away. The lotus leaf chicken sticky rice was my favorite. Soft and tender. A little small in portion size so I had grabbed two. The veggie egg roll was good. I could have eaten four myself. The filling of the taro sweet bao bun was not overly sweet and smooth in texture. Nice flavor. The egg custard sweet bao bun was also good. There was a good spice to the Dan Dan noodles. A little oily for me but filling. Everyone ate the food up in an hour. Not much leftovers meant the food was good. And feedback was good. Would recommend. Kiki is friendly...
