Itacate Mexican Food — Restaurant in Northglenn

Don’t let the shopping center location fool you—Itacate Mexican Food is an absolute gem. We stopped in while up in Northglenn and were blown away by the quality, flavor, and service.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. We were seated right away, given fresh chips and flavorful salsa (mild heat, lots of flavor), and had drinks on the table within minutes. Our server was incredibly helpful and gave great recommendations.

We started with the corn ribs and a couple of a la carte tacos—the Potato and the Bean. Both were delicious, but the potato taco was phenomenal, especially with the green salsa it’s served with. My husband ordered a torta and subbed in nopales, adding a chile toreado on the side. We asked for their spiciest salsa, and our server brought us a side of habanero salsa—our favorite of them all.

The lime wedges served with everything were the perfect finishing touch—they brightened up the tacos, torta, and corn ribs alike. We loved the potato taco so much I ordered a second one!

Overall: 10/10. The food was packed with flavor, the service was fast and friendly, and prices were fair for the quality. We live about 25 minutes away in Denver, but we’ll absolutely be making the drive again....

My boyfriend and I went there last night for date night. We read great reviews and the menu looked good and so did the pictures. To start we were there for 15 min before a man came over and asked if he had ordered drinks. We ordered a beer, tequila shot, mango margarita, Birria tacos and a pork burrito all at the same time since it took so long to be greeted. Right off the bat the margarita did not taste like mango, and they messed up the size I ordered. Now for the food. My boyfriend burrito looked like a toddler made it and looked like it was not filled or closed on the side. There was absolutely no sauce and he had to use the salsa on the table, beans and rice (which we had to order on the side and were really bland and a tiny portion). My Birria tacos that were highly spoken about, and I love Birria tacos.... these were not Birria tacos. The flavor was not there, and the cilantro and onions were old. Also game with dried. Very disappointed since review looked great. Overall, a $75.00 meal that tasted worse...

Acabamos de comer aquí vine con mi familia porque lo recomendaron y terminamos decepcionados por un pésimo servicio de la mesera KELIS ROJAS la única mesera que estaba ahí , bien hubiera podido dar mejor servicio el Buzer que estaba ahí que nos dio la bienvenida se miraba mejor persona que la mesera y más amable , pero para empezar pedimos queso fundido con chorizo y llegó frío , también pedimos un aguachile negro y tenía un pelo blanco y mi esposo tuvo que hablarle para decirle que tenía un pelo en la comida y nunca fue capaz ni cambiarnos el plato por otro simplemente dijo ay disculpe pero nunca nos quito el plato ahí nos lo dejó y nunca fue atenta con nosotros duró mucho para traernos la comida que por cierto a la comida le Faltaba mucha sal , y todavía mi esposo se tuvo que parar por un salero y pedírselo , otra cosa que notamos fue que la mesera nunca nos preguntó si queríamos más bebida nos tenia los vasos vacíos sin preguntar si queríamos más bebidas , pésimo servicio , la mesera no está capacitada para ser mesera todavía que da muy mal servicio nos quita el Tip nos quito 30 Dlls , el tip que la verdad no se merecía , yo soy mesera en un restaurante mexicano y nunca trato de dar mal servicio porque yo vivo de las propinas pero esta señora que nos atendió no se merecía que le diéramos propina y nos la quito , por la comida no hay problema teníamos hambre y aunque no estaba buena nos la comimos aunque tuviera el pelo Ami ami no me gusta desperdiciar la comida y tampoco no es problema pagar la comida el problema fue que dio muy mal servicio , tenía pelo en la comida , no fue atenta , y todavía nos quita el tip , puso el tip del 18 % y para dar mal servicio no se lo merecía , la notamos que estaba más atenta con los americanos que con nosotros , nosotros somos mexicanos y notamos un poco de racismo porque era más atenta con los americanos pero ni inteligente es la mesera fue porque nosotros somos meseros y le hubiéramos podido dejar más , le pedimos la cuenta y fue cuando vimos que nos quitó el tip y todavía le preguntamos si estaba un mánager y dijo que no , pero no se merecia que nos quitara el tip , nosotros hemos ido a lugares a comer y gastamos 200 Dlls sin problema y dejamos buena propina pero porque es comida buena y muy buen servicio pero desgraciadamente aquí no , espero y un gerente lea mi comentario y pueda tener mejores meseros porque la que nos tocó ahora no sabe meseriar es muy mala y quita el típ sin ganárselo 👎 espero y la mesera lea mi comentario , si quieres quitar el típ debes de ganártelo no quites el típ sabiendo que das muy mal Servicio , y quitar el típ es un problema muy grave espero y el jefe le de una llamada de atención o pueda cambiar de meseros porque la verdad la que...
