Blue Cactus Grill — Restaurant in Norwalk

DONT EAT AT Blue Cactus Grill! We ordered waffle fries yesterday and found a fried CHICKEN HEAD in it! The piece was slick and stretchy with what is clearly an eye, beak, and even an esophagus (on the back). I found it at night so I called back the next day after work. The manager said he'd give me a refund and thanked me for being calm about it. I was going to leave this alone until a few hours later I get a call back from the owner who starts skeptically questioning me asking why I waited to call it in immediately and commenting about how it was sitting in the fridge for a few hours. I ask if I'll still be getting a refund (for a $20 order mind you) she says not until she reaches out to their supplier to see if this was possible and will let me know! Instead of apologizing and just covering the check I had to dig it out the trash to send a picture which at that point I was told I'd get a refund. I can understand someone being confused when hearing this but to question your customer and tell them you have to reach out to the supplier before refunding $20 is ridiculous and TERRIBLE customer service. Not like the supplier is going to happily take the blame so just take care of...

If you're visiting Norwalk, this restaurant is worth lunching at. I ordered the Santa Fe sandwich, and it was the best sandwich I've had in years. (I had it on rye instead of the normal brioche-style bun it comes on.) The chipotle mayo was delicious and not overwhelming and the cutlet wasn't dry or oily.

It came with a side of coleslaw that was very unique! It was creamless and very earthy. By itself, it wasn't the best, but having it in the same bite as one of their sandwiches does the trick! It adds levels of flavor and makes their heavy sandwiches much lighter, to get you through the experience of enjoying every delicious bite without feeling too full!

I also tried the Mexican-style jalapeño hot sauce and the Southern-style vinaigrette. The jalapeño sauce was delicious and flavorful, though a bit spicy to the extent that it spoke over the sandwich's great flavor. I wasn't a fan of the Southern-style vinegar base, but with the right sandwich, it would be great.

my boyfriend and I were headed to new York and have a tradition to find little hole in the wall restaurants to stop at for every trip. We found this gem and let me tell you we weren't disappointed. Great place to stop to grab a great wrap, burger, salad, etc. All of the food is made with fresh and real ingredients and the service is 110% exceptional. it's hard to find a place that has it all, but the blue cactus has it all!!!!! Food was delish and even grabbed one of their two hommade hot sauces on the way home.
