I hate to leave a negative review on a place that my family and I once enjoyed but our experience today was horrible.

We ordered buñuelos and empanadas for starters. The buñuelo was rock hard and the empanadas were soggy and soaked in oil, as if they refried them to reheat them.

When the entrees came, it all went downhill. My mother ordered a pollo saltado, which didn’t taste like a traditional one but should’ve been expected since it’s a Peruvian dish.

I ordered my usual, an arepa with carne desmechada, but the taste was off settling, almost as if the meat gone bad. I thought maybe it was just me, so I had my mom and husband taste it. My mom couldn’t stomach it and my husband said “something is definitely off”. The meat tasted as if it was sitting out for 3 or 4 days.

My husband ordered a bandeja paisa and a few bites in, he found a long black hair, which none of us have.

Our waitress never came to check up on us, so, I called the other waiter and showed him the hair in the plate, and he took it away. I then passed him my plate explained that all of us tried the meat and that it had tasted as if it had gone bad.

He then came back and explained that he had to ask permission, if he was allowed to offer us something else because he had only been working there for a month. He then offered us grilled chicken but we kindly passed because we no longer had an appetite.

When we asked for the bill, they still charged us for the plate with hair in it, and said he could only remove my $8 dish which was the least expensive dish.

Overall, a majority of our food was old, fermented or stale. It’s disappointing to see how the quality of service and food has gone down significantly. I would not...

Poor service recovery!! Very disappointed. Every Wednesday my son and I visit different delis and restaurants for bfast, La Sorpresa is his #1 choice and so is mine. It’s usually very good food and good customer service. Today was wicked...I was short 50€ to the card minimum so I ordered 3.00$ worth of extra non food items I could’ve done without. Upon inspecting my bag I realized he did not package part of my order, 1.00$ -2.00$ worth of really good finger food. When I asked him he said “oh I didn’t charge it”, meaning I could have met the minimum and received everything I ordered. I did not have cash so I went back to my seat. He approached the table and throws the receipt next to me saying “see, I didn’t charge it” I was so surprised all I said was “ but that’s not the point” at the least I expected to get a sincere apology or even half order of what I had ordered and didn’t get. It was clearly his fault. Poor customer service, poor training. Sad to loose a customer over 1.00$ - 2.00$ ...

Grabbed food from this place before they closed. Need food before went to stay with family member in hospital. They gave me the food and didn’t give us whole order missing items beans from both plates and potatoes. Called them to see if food could be delivered to us, they said no at first and then asked for partial refund. Waited to speak to someone then someone said they would bring food over. Said had to be here in 20 minutes because hospital wouldn’t let us back in. They went to wrong place, tried to explain where to meet me and they said forget you get no beans tonight. Glad they tried but weren’t helpful. They should have just refunded me some money. Spent a lot of money to get jipped on food. What I did get was bland....
