Costa Vino Wine Bar Restaurant — Restaurant in Norwalk

Took my wife here last night. I drive by all of the time and here the excellent salsa music always playing and was very excited to try it especially after viewing the menu online. I orderd the steak mofongo. Being puertorican I had higher expectations however I am open to the way other cultures prepared dishes. I liked the fact that the plantain was baked instead of fried and the meat was somtherd in some sort of gravy I thought that was great but unfortunately there was very little flavor.. and the quality if meat wasn't satisfactory it was very chewy not tender. The same goes for the drinks. I like the costavino lemonade but it was a bit pricy for such a small serving. I dont have a problem paying for more for quality but all in all the food and drink, just ok..the wait staff was great,the place was very clean. I think the place has alot of potential and I have very high hopes for their success. I live localy so I'd love the idea of having a great place like this right in the neighborhood. l am willing to give it...

I will start with the positives. Appetizers and drinks were pretty good. Service was also good but omg!! I order a lobster Thermidor and I don’t know what I got!!! I got something not even close to what a real lobster thermidor is, no creamy sauce no cheese, I even had to ask the waiter if I got the right thing. I got 2 lobster tails with a clear sauce on top that had no flavor. I also order an octopus for my son and the presentation of the plate was not good, everything looked red, is like they just threw a bunch of paprika and mixed all together. The decor of the place is off, you have some bohemian then some of the wall art is more modern and the bar has more like a garden decor, overall doesn’t really help to create a vibe. The place has potential and the plates on the menus sound good just hope they can execute it...

We had the best experience at Costa Vino! I had my bridal shower in their main dining room and it was beautiful! We had a private space to have our celebration, and the owners Sandro and Andres were helpful and responsive to all our inquires. They were very accommodating and set up tables in our desired seating arrangements and also created extra tables for our desserts, presents and favors. We were able to bring in decorations which really made the place look beautiful!
