Sharing a little late but life has been hectic!
I'll keep this light but my father passed away in April. He was the life of the party, he loved good music, good food and good people. My mom and I knew he wouldn't have wanted a typical funeral with people crying over him, but rather his favorite people coming together to reminisce on the good times they had with him and enjoy some good food and drinks.
Before his death, my mom and I took him to Coals and he loved it - especiallyyyy the maple rosemary wings. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are all incredibly kind. I contacted the restaurant less than a week before we planned to have the Celebration of Life post-wake and they could not have been more accommodating. Responses to my questions were answered in a timely manner and they assured me everything would be taken care of and not to worry - and yes, we could play the playlist I made of some of my dad's favorite music.
They were right! More people came than we anticipated and they were able to set up more tables and chairs. The food was hot and plentiful and of course, the wings were a big hit, just as I knew they would be. There were plenty of delicious pizzas to choose from and they even added on some desserts which were absolutely delicious - churros AND Nutella pizza!!
We're so grateful for Coals' generosity and ability to make such a difficult day a little easier for us, our friends and our family.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we cannot recommend this place...
Read moreWe were the third set of customers (we =2 people. The other tables already served and at different stages of their meal) on a Sunday afternoon. But yet the waitress still could not remember our drink order (2 sodas). We had to remind her, after our appetizers. Apology was short, insincere and frankly, she sounded bored. Yes, she charged us for them.
The menu stated "beet salad"...it was more like salad with some beets (it was very good).
The maple rosemary wings were tasty although the rosemary seemed to be an afterthought. The only taste of rosemary occured if your wing was next to the sprig on the plate.
It was apparent we were new to the restaurant by a few of the questions we were asking but yet the waitress offered no guidance or help with the menu.
The pizza was tasty but when you say thin; it is so thin to the point it is really soggy and you must use a fork. It was a gob of cheese, sauce, basil, and soft dough. The first two slices at the end are the best, still crisp from oven and able to hold like a small slice.
Leaving, the owner sitting at the door was unenthusiastic, blandly thankful and disinterested in our dining experience.
Been there, done that,...
Read moreI organized a Retirement Party for my mother-in-law this past Saturday, and everything was AMAZING.
Blanca was so helpful and easy to collaborate with to discuss details. I showed her my vision, and she, along with the entire staff, made everything come together perfectly! They were so accommodating and friendly. I have done many parties at many restaurants, and I have never had such a hands-on, personal experience like this.
The atmosphere was so cozy and such an amazing space for a party! The food was EXCELLENT. The wings and the "Squealing Pig" were my favorite!
This was my first time here, and we will definitely be back! 10/10 would...
