Lucky Buffet — Restaurant in Norwalk

Okay. So I use to live in Dayton and we have many different Chinese buffets. They sadly are dirty looking and it’s one of those situations where you just go and get your food and move on you don’t ask questions. I like a good buffet. When I saw that we were getting a CB in this little town, I was JACKED! We don’t really have many GOOD restaurant options in Norwalk. My husband and I love casa bravos for Mexican by the way… anyways… we went to the CB today and it was delicious. The food was hot and fresh. We were greeted by a lovely woman and when I looked around, it was clean and simple looking. I loved the tan leather booths with the marble table tops. It’s not a huge buffet but it is definitely a good one. The people there were so kind. My waitress made sure our plates were gone when we came back and always had our cups full. She spoke kindly to my kids, I really appreciated that. She was engaging with all of us. She always had a smile on her face by the way. To me, that makes me want to go again. I can’t stand when you get a rude attitude from your waitress/waiter. Like I came out for a nice dinner and I don’t want to deal with attitude … I have kids okay. Anyways she was quick to get us out check in a timely manner. Nothing I hate more than waiting for a hot moment trying to figure out when I get to blow that popsicle stand. Again, I have kids and anyone who has kids knows Its hard to keep your kids common quiet in a restaurant! They let you know where to pay and had you out in no time. I heard that (not sure if it’s true or not) but that the owners of casa bravos is the same owner of this Chinese buffet but if so, they are doing an amazing job and hospitality is definitely their gift. We tried The Lucky Buffet in Norwalk Ohio for the first time tonight, March 19, 2025. We ate at dinnertime , 5:30 pm. The food was just awful!!! None of the food had much flavor and was all very bland. The egg rolls available were so hard I could not cut it with a knife. When fresh ones were brought out the were not much better. Only stuffing inside the egg rolls was plain shredded cabbage. No vegetables , nothing. No flavor once again. The cooked mushrooms in sauce were still raw. Coconut chicken and honey chicken , both tasted old and hard. Sweet and sour chicken , all bread like inside, with a tiny piece of chicken, which did not taste fresh at all!! Stir fried rice, dry as a bone and flavorless too. I tried the egg drop soup and bland and greasy too. I did not want to bother trying any other dishes of food from the buffet. Nothing tastes good. There was more food in my napkin that I had to remove from my mouth, than I actually could eat. The fortune cookies were so hard, must have been old, we could not even chew them , so we could not eat those at all. Desserts were very dry and obviously old . YUCK!!! The only thing good about our meals were our drinks. $20 per person, including the drinks. A restaurant should take pride in the food that they serve to the public. It is only good business practice. A big waste of our money, and we are senior citizens on a budget. Guess we will go home and have a bowl of cereal. We DO NOT recommend eating at the Lucky Buffet in Norwalk. Peking House in Norwalk has much better Chinese food, but they do not serve inside , it is take out only. But their food is of much better quality...

Second time going got there around 1145am 3 10 25 probably hour in total . Highly disappointed door greeter or manager took me to seat never asked what kind of drink .I went off to use restroom came back got plate sat down ate waiters / waitress never came to ask what i wanted to drink but yet no trouble clearing plate from table or geting drinks for nearby tables. Multiple times they walked past looked at me never a word to busy going off standing in drink area on cellphones or guy manger/door greeter burgandy shirt talking on cellphone . Food was barely warm need to turn up burners o have system checked. Finished a drink less meal waiter blk shirt took last plate napkin silvaware 15 minutes later still no check had to go upfront ask how much it was no drink of any kind just buffet so I could leave should of walked out since seemed Noone could be bothered. People shouldn't have to yell for wait staff to do the job simple check on customers especially if you see someone new In area n clearly no drink ask or maybe if your person that seated guest check on them if you see no drink. For a ok meal wasnt bad but definitely will be looking elsewhere hopefully casa braves hasn't...
