Slice of Italy — Restaurant in Norwalk

I love taking my 6 year old son on adventures during the summer. We live in NYC and he LOVES trains so I decided to take Metro North to South Norwalk. After walking around he said he was hungry so he walked until he stopped in front of Slice of Italy. “ Let’s eat here mommy.” And so we walked in and we were greeted with a BIG WELCOME and smile by a lovely young lady who told us we could sit wherever we wished. He picked to sit outside we were immediately greeted again by the same young lady. He ordered a small pizza and I the antipasto salad the menu had a huge variety and everything looked AMAZING but, we were pressed for time. I noticed they had tamarind juice on the menu which I have NEVER seen at a restaurant before ( as a kid my mom always made me tamarind juice) so I ordered it, unfortunately she told me they had not made any yet but she had passion fruit so I said it’s ok I’ll take the passion fruit. Our food came out and it was delicious and then our LOVELY waitress comes out with a juice (TAMARIND JUICE) and said she rushed to make me a fresh juice so I could have…. NICOLE is her name and she is SUCH a amazing server! I have been in this business for over 30 years and lately it is impossible to find such GREAT service. Why haven’t I heard of these guys , their pizza is delicious. I ordered a jumbo pepperoni pizza and it was one of the best tasting pizzas I ever had . The website was easy to work with and the pizza was delivered way within the 70 mins time frame they gave me . These guys deserves a 5+ star but bcse my food was left on the steps and I didn’t know I gave them a 4 . I was in the living room watching my granddaughter, I did get a text but I didn’t hear the text come in but I would have definitely heard a knock which I think he/she should have done . My daughter lives in a well lit apartment and safe neighborhood so I don’t understand why the person just left my food sitting on the steps . Oh how can I forget I also ordered 2 slices of Tres Leches cake , when I say delicious I mean delicious. My grandson and I kept saying how good the cake was that my daughter who hates wet cakes even tried it and enjoyed it ( she cut the bottom off though) and she never eats Tres Leches cakes . The cream topping was excellent , we make or own and we enjoyed this . I would definitely recommend you guys giving it a try and you won’t be disappointed. This was a go to place for pizza for us since it is nearby, and they do make good pizza. However I ordered a pizza on Sunday night around 7pm for delivery. The estimated arrival time was just after 8pm. Around 8:30, no pizza had arrived so I tried calling the store. The phone rang and rang and went to voicemail. Since I don't live to far away, I walked down to the store at 8:45 and they were all closed up for the night. The following day I tried calling, and finally talked to someone who said that no manager was available, but they took my name and phone number and would have a manager call me. The next day, after not having received a call, I tried again, and the woman who answered the phone said that the manager was not available, and that he only pops in every now and then, so she gave me his cell phone number to call.
