Reservations are the way to go. We got in and sat down quickly. That was about where the good bits end. We had to ask for a kid's menu (never got it before just using the menu on Google). Thought, okay, they are busy. The waitress was clearly having a bad night.
Eventually we got to order appetizers and had our fried pickles thrown on our table in passing. (Used to be best friend pickle spears in town. Bland)
We waited a while till we could order our food. My partner noted several tables around us get checked on while we were ignored. One table next to us sat down after us (had ordered more food than us of equal difficulty) got their food before us and even got an apology from the waitress for the food coming out in the wrong order.
By the time our food came out, it was, predictably, not hot anymore. Our kid dropped his fork on the ground and before we had a chance to ask for another the waitress was gone again.
The chicken Parm was pretty sad. Very bland, almost burnt chicken, next to no sauce but for only 10 noodles, I guess you don't need that much.
My kid, who is obsessed with spaghetti, did not like it, saying it tasted weird. It did.
My partner's sandwich wasn't hot either.
If I had the spoons and thought there wouldn't be drama, I would absolutely have talked to the manager. But nowadays, no one can ask for a manager without being judged as a "Karen", legit concerns or not. Took the food home. I can dress it up and fix it. For what I paid, I'm...
Read moreTwo friends and I went here for lunch today. This was only my second time here, having went last close to a year ago. Today's experience was very comparable to my last visit.
I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich plate. Approx. $11. Pics include a full shot of my meal and two closer up shots to show more of the sandwich. The sandwich is served open face style and I actually ate it using a knife and fork. Not as juicy as I would prefer (a little dry) for a Philly cheesesteak (these tend to vary considerably from place to place), but I'd rate this one above average. Fries were pretty basic.
Only received one beverage refill and was not even asked again though the waittress passed the table a good number of times. For a lunch out with friends, it's not unusual to go through a few refills. Otherwise, the service was good. Though, our wait from the time we ordered until we received our food was 20 minutes. That was the case with my prior visit as well.
Restaurant itself is a pleasant setting, wood throughout, comfortable temperature, nice lighting, and not too loud or such.
One of my friends ordered the blackened salmon salad which she said was 5 out of 5 star. My other friend ordered a soup and sandwich combination. She was not impressed by the soup (French onion) and gave her meal a 3 out of 5.
My rating of 4 is based on all factors related to...
Read moreSo my wife and I decided we would try rusty bucket for the first time. However we did not even get to make it past the host stand. We walked in and there was no one up front. Now they weren't particularly busy, as I have worked in restaurants for over 25 years I would understand if they were. Several servers and bartenders definitely saw us standing there. No acknowledgement. An employee was eating food at a booth in the bar area. Which he was in uniform and was walking around. A server was taking a beer to a table and my wife asked if we were supposed to seat ourselves.he spilled some beer on the floor next to me, said party foul and made no acknowledgement to us at all. Several minutes later I ask the bar tender who had seen me standing there for almost 10 minutes if I was supposed seat myself. Woth much attitude and an eye roll he said someone would be with me. After another minute or so we decided to leave and eat somewhere else as the lack of customer service made us want to leave. Upon going to my car and leaving the lot the same bartender who had the attitude was in the parking lot talking on his phone. This experience ensures my wife and I will never try...
