I have been a loyal customer since 2009 when I tasted the cakes from oak mill. I probably order about 10 cakes every year but I was recently disappointed. For my birthday days in advance I submitted my order picked up on Sunday March 13th. When I opened the box I noticed cracks on the whip cream. Did not bother me as much but made me inspect the cake further. It smelled like refrigerator. We cut one slice and tasted it and it tasted old. Keep in mind I know their quality of cakes and never ever when you order a cake do they put the name and mine did. We called they said bring the cake and speak to the manager my husband went she was not there. He left his phone number next day she calls and said it is suppose to taste that way and pick up your cake. We picked up the cake the following day and asked to speak to someone higher then that manager that called. We got in contact with someone from the office and she said we will solve this I will make sure you get your refund. They said call the bakery tomorrow. My husband did that and told him you aren't getting nothing back. He called the office the lady he previous spoke to heard him and fd hung up on him. He calls back someone else answers they tell him point blank your cake tasted that way because that how it tastes. He then said can I speak to someone that is higher then you. .... she responded to him and said only God is higher then me! !!! What! !! Where is their customers service and how dare do they respond to a customer that way. I will never step foot in any oak mill bakery ever in my life and it's a shame that they could not solve this problem. I have pictures on how my cake looked to how a fresh cake they have in the bakery looks and looks nothing like I received. You should be ashamed family owned bakery............
Read moreWhat happened to Oak Mill Bakery?! Prices increased drastically - an 8 inch 2 layer cake with strawberry, banana and custard filling with whipped cream frosting, and writing for $100? And pay it all up front?! What an experience I had with paying for my son’s baptism cake up front yesterday at 11am and coming back today at about 10:45am to simply change the date of the cake by pick up a day before because I mistakenly said pick up the 14th instead of the 13th and the manager said cannot change orders within 3-5 days unless you pay an additional $5 fee! Really?! I paid the cake in full for $100 and have to pay an additional $5? I thought it was just too much for a simple date change as I just entered the order less than 24 hours yesterday, so I decided to just cancel my order entirely and ask for a refund in full and they were okay with that versus waiving the $5 as courtesy….. I’m sorry there has got to be a better explanation of the policies and better customer service and prices over all. I even said I bought my other son’s baptism cake many years ago here as I enjoy this bakery but seriously now for the increased prices - this is just ridiculous! Decorations on the cake I would’ve ordered was $35 alone when I saw the breakdown of the $100 total cost! They rather lose out on $100 versus essentially waiving a $5 change fee?...
Read moreIf ZERO was an option I would choose that. Worst customer service EVER. They don't care if you are happy with what you bought or not, they just care about making money. My wife bought a small cake (6" round) here for her brother's birthday, and the cake was full of buttercream filler, and barely any actually cake. The cake cost $50, so you expect it to be good. We took it back to them, which was still 60% untouched, to let them know weren't happy with the quality due to the lack of actual cake. The Manager did not care and refused to do anything for my wife, not a partial refund, or offer another cake, or even a credit for a future occasion.
I am big on customer service, and I still believe you should try to try to take care of the customer the best you can, and the mere fact that this manager could care less about the satisfaction of a customer to be happy with their own product to want to return is validation enough that they don't our...
