Edit: Seems I hit a nerve with the owner. 1, I never said there was anything wrong with a Ukranian woman working there. I was addressing her poor hospitality skills. Smile, say thank you, be friendly, say you're welcome when someone says thank you. I was a server for a long time and did well for myself because I was good at what I did. I wasnt going to go into detail but since you responded, she didn't give me what I ordered so I nicely asked her at the counter again and she was literally leaning against it staring at her phone. Thats what I meant by not wanting to be there. 2, the spring rolls did not have any herbs as I already stated. Perhaps the person preparing it forgot to add the mint. 3, I've never been to a pho place that put the steak in the broth itself. It's always served on the side unless requested. ¯(ツ)/¯
Maybe it's because I come from the pacific northwest, but I am not sure why this place has a 4.6 rating. It was fine, but the server was a Ukrainian woman who didn't seem to want to be there and was a little grumpy. That aside, the pho broth had a lot of pepper on it which I found odd and was definitely not the traditional, flavorful bone broth I'm used to. It was bland and I had to add hoisen and salt to it. She also dumped all of the steak into the broth before it came to the table, so it was overcooked by the time I got it, which is not how that is supposed to be served. The spring rolls didn't have any herbs in them as they're supposed to and the Thai tea came in a tiny 12 Oz container. Not worth the money, sadly. I'll keep trying to find a...
Read moreIve been here a couple times with friends and with my girlfriend. Overall everything here is very good. The drinks and apps really stand out in my opinion and I wouldn't mind just stopping in here for the drinks alone. Here's my break down.
Drinks: •Thai Iced Tea- hands down best Thai iced tea I have ever had. Easily a 10/10. My gf and I loved it. •Vietnamese iced coffee- reminds me of those Starbucks drinks you buy in glass bottles at gas stations but much better. It's a great pick-me-up •Cherry pomenade- both my gf and my friend really enjoyed this drink and I thought it tasted great too. Another solid choice.
Apps: •egg rolls- amazing, I could eat a hundred of those things. Definitely can tell they're made fresh. The sauce it comes with is great too. •spring rolls- great and very fresh. The sauce it comes with is very good too. Wings- very good as well. I prefer the honey soy sauce.
Main: •again everything here has been good. I havent had nearly as much if this menu yet though. •Bun Bo Hue - is a definite highlight and my personal favorite. It has a little bit of kick and great flavor. •Short Ribs - my friend had these and he gave them a 8/10 • Vegetarian Pho- my gf had this and gave it an 8/10 •pho tai- solid choice as well but I much prefer the Bun Bo Hue.
Service: I've read a few comments about service being slow but it's never felt that way to me. They're always super nice. Last time I was there it was Jeremy serving our food and...
Read moreUpdate: I'm disappointed with the response I received. The website says fresh fruit but the response I received said they use frozen fruit. Won't be ordering any smoothies from here again. I should have made it clear that I ordered the veggie spring rolls and vegan pho. So mine did not have the shrimp where the response indicated the flavour comes from in the spring rolls. Not sure if the broth they tasted was their regular meat broth or the vegan broth.
I really wanted to like Pho Home. I've had dine-in twice. It was alright. But my review is for my delivery order today. Got the tropical smoothie and there was an inch of room in my cup. But it tasted off. I couldn't identify which fruit was bad in it, but it definity made me start feeling quesy. Spring rolls were alright. But it needs daikon and carrot mixture for flavour. My banh mi had the bread soggy and it was salty. I can get over the bread being soggy but I couldn't eat it due to the salty flavour. Pho broth...
