It was a very fast-paced program. 3 stars because they were very professional and had lots of information. Instructors were great. 1 star for the training/hours part of practice. Being 2 years out in the field, their orthodontic program does not allow you to gain experience. When you go and do your hours. It was not helpful at all. This clinical part needs more time and needs their staff at their sister-partner locations to allow you the experience. Went to 3 of their locations, to do the hours and being out in the field, they did not give you the time and opportunity to do the practice and gain expetience. Practice time or clinical time needs to actually be more hands-on. Slower pace. The locations will not allow you to do that and gain experience. Their lead assistants at the location places were friendly, but they were too busy to handle the training of the hours required. It does not prepare you to be ready for the field. The 3 locations I went to, the majority of assistants with the exception of the lead assistants, were rude and felt bothered and wouldn't allow you to be near them to watch and learn. I would have rather paid a college based program and have taken time to gain experience in the training part...

Read moreI am a student for the Fall of 2022 and I took the course of Dental Assisting with Ms. Derriece in the Harwood Heights location. What I can appreciate during my time as a student is how friendly and informative the entire staff is during my entire experience with Illinois Health Careers. While being fast paced, it did not feel overwhelming during my time in this course and the material was straightforward and easily accessible for study. My instructor was friendly, hands on and approachable during lecture/lab hours and made learning enjoyable with my fellow peers. If I had to suggest any improvements, it would to be to keep up the positive and enriching experience I had for IHC’s...
