IHOP — Restaurant in Norwood

This is not my first time coming to this location but I don't really make an effort to come here often. I visited over the weekend with my girlfriend and the experience was just ok. When we arrived it took close to 10 minutes before we were actually greeted at the host stand, which happens, we just assumed they were short staffed like most places these days. After we were seated we placed our orders and received our food in a timely manner. The food was decent, eggs were cooked as we ordered, pancakes were delicious, the hashbrowns were kind of hard and tough to cut through and the bacon was rather tasteless. For drinks I ordered a chocolate milk which came out pretty warm, basically room temperature. I would have liked for it to be a bit colder. After eating the waitress came back and gave us the check, but then took quite some time to come back to actually collect our payment. Again, probably short staffed but it was a tad annoying to have to wait so long to leave. I will say the worst part of this trip was the bathroom experience. There was water all over the floor, toilet paper scattered about, and the smell was awful, like the bathroom hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I found out why shortly after. The cleaning chart hanging on the back of the door stated as much. We visited Sunday of 5/19 and the latest date on the chart was Sunday 5/5. I understand if they are indeed short staffed but that bathroom needed service badly, and it clearly wasn't getting it. All in all, I wouldn't come back here again. I'd rather check around and go with some other local breakfast spots. You might pay more but it's worth it...

And thats putting it nicely. I like to visit a place a few times to get a feel for it before i post a review, because sometimes things change. So the past few times I have come, I have had very pleasant experiences. Our server, Bianca, was extremely wonderful. If we did not start the meal with her, we somehow ended it with her as our server which would happen to change our experience around. Normally, we have been coming later in the day, so not as busy, but came around 11 today. Checked in, advised of a 20 minute wait. Okay, no problem. About 30 minutes later, after we noticed some people being seated who arrived after us, we checked to see what was going on, and were promptly seated behind another party(i believe by the manager). A few minutes later a group was seated next to us (normally the tables have been marked off and people seated at every other table due to Covid, not today apparently). We were then asked by the gentleman who seated us if anyone had been with us yet, and advised him no. A server came, but to take the order of the people who arrived after us. We ordered a loaded omelette with hash browns and a belgian waffle and 2 chocolate milks. Well, they forgot the hash browns, the waffle was cold, no butter or whipped, and the chocolate milk tasted more like milk. So i guess next time, if we do come, it will probably be later in the day. I have been coming here for years. I have never had a bad experience there except for today. Our server Nakia(I’m not sure if I spelt her name correctly) was friendly when greeting us and taking our order. But we waited 30 minutes if not more for our food while people who came after us got their food before us. I’ve worked in restaurants I know how it works so I’m usually tolerant. But when the person behind me who came after me gets the same thing as the person I came with and we wait for our food it’s a little irritating. And when she brought our food over a person in my party orders a Mountain Dew when we ordered our food that he had to wait the 30 minutes for. So when she finally brought us our food I asked about the soda figuring she forgot which people do. With that she says “yeah im gonna get it, ya know I only have 2 hands..” we waited 30 minutes for A soda. We waited 30 minutes for basically cold food and raw eggs. To be given an attitude for politely asking for a soda that should of never taken 30 minutes. We tried to eat but became so irritated with the ignorant service my friend asked for boxes and the check for her to not even acknowledge or answer him.
