Bought a 43cc Cultivator on 05/04/24. Pulled it out of the box and assembled. I filled the machine with fuel and pulled the cord for about an hour. At some point in this process, the choke came completely apart. I brought the assembled machine back to the store after draining the fuel back out and bleeding the purge line back into a proper fuel can on 05/09/24. The gentleman at the counter apologized for the inconvenience and asked if I wanted an even exchange or credit. I asked for a credit as I did not want to go through the process of assembling a second time. A manager was called to approve the transaction, and he did not greet me, began to ask a few questions, then informed me there would be a restocking fee if I returned for cash because the machine was assembled and open. I informed him that I had called the customer support line already to see if there were parts available to which I was informed parts could not be sent individually on this machine. I would rather have had the carburetor to replace than a new machine that may or may not work. So he offered an even exchange. I reluctantly accepted the even exchange as this was my third trip to the store to resolve a broken machine straight out of the box (the second trip I asked for the return and she told me I have to drain the fuel, then I got customer support number for parts). The manager brought a new cultivator out, but when he asked if I had drained the gas out, he searched very hard and was able to produce some gasoline in a very small amount from where the fuel pickup tube had not been completely rinsed and denied my return. This gentleman went out of his way to find what he was looking for and claim that he was only following store policy. I feel like I was treated as suspicious, and that these employees did not believe the machine was broken straight from the box. I did not clean the dirt from where the cultivator rested while I tried to start it, so it’s possible that dirt appeared to them as use, but the machine had not kicked over even once. I’m just so frustrated at this experience, and shamefully I had some choice words for this manager and his malicious compliance. Not once did he apologize for the inconvenience or explain any of his apparent hostility. I guess I will have to find some way to completely and utterly dry the fuel tank of any residue but I’m afraid that even more disassembly to clean will cause even more suspicious treatment from the...
Read morePurchased a gas 2' water pump with everything i needed to use, I/O hoses etc.. 2 weeks ago, spent just over $500. cashier put a black Friday sales flyer in the bag as i signed up for a membership.
In the sales flyer, the pump I just bought would be $100 less the week of Thanksgiving. Immediately called the store and was advised to hang onto the pump, dont open it, and bring it back Monday the 20th to return/buy as their return policy is 90 days unopened with a receipt.
Went back today and Sabrina store manager would not honor what i was advised. Would only let me return the unopened pump and not let me purchase same pump at $100 less, sale that started today.
Drove down to the Attleboro store and bought the same pump at the sale price and another $300 in pump accessories.
As a manager, i hope part of your salary is on a commission basis....
Read moreCalled here today for a discontinued toolbox. A woman with a cool Irish accent was so patient and kind with me on the phone while I asked her to look up several different sku # to see what they had in stock. When I arrived, the same woman, Rachel, was just as kind, patient and thorough in person as she was on the phone. Jess, the woman who rang me up, was super friendly and kind. She engaged with my 6 month old son who I was carrying and made him smile. When Rachel and Brian were loading my purchases onto my trailer, Brian and I engaged about the device he used to bring the toolboxes outside, he was also kind and friendly. I had a wonderful experience with this purchase, and it was also my birthday, which made the experience even better! I'd make this my go to HFT if it wasn't so far from my home. But I'll be back to shop when I'm in the...
