I also had a negative experience here too, which falls under the category of: "the audacity of this place." I went to pick up my take out order which my wife had placed, but was rebuffed by the hostess even though I gave her my wife's name. She literally quibbled over the difference between Jennifer and "Jen" in this exchange. Also, note, I don't leave bad reviews. Full stop. From the minute I arrived , the hostess/manager treated me with suspicion.
She said she needed the order number. To satisfy her, I brought my wife's phone inside, which contained the receipt and the order #. She still refused to give me the order; then, she insisted on calling my wife's phone , which went straight to voicemail and was in her accusatory hand. She claimed a little girl answered the phone even though it was my wife's high pitched voicemail message. Who did she expect to answer since she now was holding the phone as she called it? She said the number didn't match the number she had just called... I told her that was because her phone was recording the voicemail as the dialed number. It wasn't until my wife who is from the area came in and asked what was going on. She then lied and said I had given her the wrong order number, and she even had the audacity to claim that I also gave her the wrong number. She treated me like I was suspected of stealing food throughout the entire interaction because Door Dash delivers had previously grabbed the wrong orders. She did not apologize or accept responsibility. She has also refused to refund the order when I said I would cancel it. This is too preposterous to believe seemingly, yet it is true. The food was fine, and this review is not a reflection on the chefs or bartender who...
Read moreApril 2023 - my wife and I came into Masa this past weekend for dinner and sat at the bar. There was a new bartender as It appears that the previous female bartender quit, as she told us she was going to do. The new bartender made me a Mai Tai that was anything but a Mai Tai. Instead of having the normal pink color, this version was brown in color and tasted nothing like a Mai Tai (see picture). It tasted terrible! I then ordered a Scorpion Bowl drink, but the new bartender messed up this drink, also. Instead of serving the drink in the normal "bowl", he served it in a beer mug along with a Corona beer to pour into the drink. What?? There is no beer in a Scorpion Bowl drink! The Scorpion Bowl drink is also normally pink in color, but this version was bright yellow and also did not taste anything like the normal Scorpion Bowl drink. I couldn't finish it as it tasted terrible and so I switched to a beer. We noticed that the couple sitting across from us at the bar were also staring at their Mai Tai drink and had an unhappy look on their faces. As we left, I asked them If their Mai Tai also tasted bad, and they responded "yes". I called the restaurant the next day to give them some feedback about our bar experience, but the person who answered the phone would not let me speak to a manager. Needless to say, we will not be back for a while until the bartender issue gets...
Read moreIt’s really sad because my family and I have come here for over a decade, but today was major disappointment. We walk in to enjoy a hibachi meal, and we were told we could not do hibachi show (for my three kids mind you) because my 3 year old wasn’t going to order a meal, she was going to share with me. My 9 year old was ordering and so was I but that wasn’t enough for them they said. After being a customer for so long, I’m not sure why it was such a big deal to throw a show on for the kids. Guess a single mom can’t take her kiddos out for entertainment. So we left and my daughter who is 3 took her lemonade that she already drank out of and they tried to cause a scene saying it wasn’t paid for. Well we have to find somewhere else to go because you denied us a show and a 3 dollar lemonade that you would throw in the trash anyways because she already drank out of it, is the least you could let my kids have. I always tip the cook and I tip again at the end for the restaurant, this was a ridiculous experience today! No one was even there, it was literally just US you would think you’d want some money vs no money at all but hey that shows why they went out of business in the first place , off toe Friendly’s we go :) and we will use a diff hibachi in the future :) 100 percent recommended Yamato across the...
