OH BOY !!! Do i have a review for you!!!! So usually, i get dickeys on carrol lake Rd in commerce twp! It is closer to me! But this time uber eats was having a promotion at this dickeys on grand river in novi. I placed an order and after….i called the store to talk to someone about my order and ask them if they could put the toppings to my sandwiches ON THE SIDE so my sandwiches wouldnt be SOGGY!! I spoke with MARK - he said they had already made the sandwiches… i said im sorry but i dont want the toppings on the sandwiches it will be soggy by the time it gets to me. Mark said okay! That they would take the toppings off and put them on the side. Well, when the uber driver came to my door I noticed him eating something (he also had food on his mouth) i grabbed my food said thank u and went to my kitchen to check my order. My sandwiches were ofcourse soggy, and they had NO toppings at all!! Not even on the side!! I ordered 2 coleslaw and that was missing, no pickles no onions for my sandwiches… they were plain!! Just meat and a soggy crushed bun!! Then i look at the sides I ordered and i was missing 2 baked beans !!! I called the store to speak to mark and ask him what happened and he had no idea and couldn’t answer to why my food was missing. Also, when i asked about the toppings i called and spoke to him about, he said i did not specify what toppings, so they put none on?? I did specify!! I said coleslaw pickles and onions on side!!! When i called he told me the toppings were already on the sandwiches!!! WOW!!!! Mark did not want to give me a full refund. What kind of customer service is this???? Soggy plain sandwiches with no toppings and missing food items ? If i were a manager i would definitely make this right! My family was hungry and we wanted to enjoy our food. This was a terrible experience and bad customer service! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS LOCATION!!!!! I will be calling corporate to see what they can do but these are independently owned so im not sure. Trust me when i say this place is horrible!!! Doesn’t taste like good BBQ at all!!! You should always take into consideration the customer’s...
Read moreOh, dear. I really wanted to like this place. We've eaten Dickey's since moving to TX in '08, and so I expected this to be very good. I called ahead to ask about using a coupon from online, and was assured it was fine. Once I showed up, then the same person put restrictions on usage, and wasn't very nice about it. Sandwiches were $9 for burnt ends, and $8.75 for brisket with cheese. We (the manager and I) discussed how I like NOT dried-out/inedible burnt ends, and was told they were cutting the brisket right then so I could get the stuff that's not hard like leather. What I got was two sandwiches with enormously thick buns - not toasted nor grilled, unbuttered, and both very very dry. The cheese on the brisket sandwich wasn't melted at all, but looked as if they opened a Kraft single and plopped it on. The burnt ends were leather-like, as was the very dry brisket. I had to keep dunking my sandwich in sauce to be able to eat either sandwich. If I had paid full price, I would have been furious. There is no way that amount of meat on a dry bun with nothing else on it or with it is worth $9. If this is indicative of their food at this location, sadly, we will not return.........UPDATE - I did email the owner, as requested here, and never...
Read moreThis joint is CLEAN. In my mind I’m just thinking slaughterhouse, meat and sauce. But it was immaculate. They had their meats on display so you know it’s real. Ordered Pulled Pork Sandwiches, add Pickle & Onion With Hot Sauce. There were three gentleman working this night, two breaking the restaurant down and one manning the counter. All three were busy, one continued his work, another stopped what he was doing and headed to the counter and the gentleman at the counter greeted me as I walked up. Idk if he was the owner or manager but he reminded me of Sam Elliott, gruff but stern, yet still pleasant. They were literally bagging it up as I was coming in, so the food was fresh and on time. Perfect sandwich execution, meat was tender. bread buttery and crisp. These sandwiches don’t showboat, they’re not overly topped, making for the right bite every time. Perfect amount of meat. It practically melts as you devour it. I drenched mine in the sauce and it was gone too soon, leaving my hands sauced and smelling like a delicious meat pit. Excellent price for what I received, just don’t forget to grab napkins. Would definitely recommend a dine in experience, the atmosphere is amazing. Staff was courteous even though it was nearing closing time,...
