Ok so today 7/17/25 I took my son and 2 of his friends and my boyfriend out to dinner at Lunas. My son is a student at a near by private school so I frequent this place when I’m early to get him from school. Today all 5 of us was seated around 7pm. It was busy but not all that busy. 5, 10,15 minutes went by and I saw the table with a large party in front of us being serviced, the smaller tables in the back was also being attended too but our table never got a “hello will be with you shortly”. I then set my alarm for 5 minutes and told the boys if no one came we are leaving. A guy brought us bread but that’s it. My alarm went off and I kept my word I ask to speak to a manger and another 5 minutes went by. Maria came and she was very apologetic and asked us to stay and she will give us $ off the bill, I kindly declined as I it wasn’t about the money for me, it was about the principle of being ignored in a entire restaurant when I was the only brown person. My son is half white, looks all white, the 2 other kids white and my boyfriend white. Was it about race? Can’t say for sure but I saw 2 waitress walk by looked at us and never said boo. Maria even offered me a gift card and I said I didn’t want it as I wasn’t sure I would ever be back. I told her I do not want anyone getting fired from their jobs but it’s a teachable moment for the staff. I am by the grace of God able to go to any restaurant and spend $200-$1,000 or more on dinner. I only chose Lunas because the food is good, we never had a bad experience and it was close to the kids home. Maria thank you for your offer to make it better but I stand on principles, in our current state of the country and just by the way people don’t seems to care about anyone other than themselves I wanted to teach my boys that integrity was much more important here and that they should never be made to feel less than or unseen, because we are all the same race,...
Read moreMyself and my husband have been coming here 2-3x a week for the last 6 months. The food and service is absolutely stellar! Whether you have the Italian, American or Spanish style cuisine it will never disappoint! The waitresses Amanda, Gia, and Allison are beyond incredible! On point and friendly! I always feel so welcomed walking in those doors. Sadly, the reason for my low star is to hopefully catch the attention of the business owner and address an encounter I had a couple of weeks ago. Myself and my husband came in and as we always do whether empty or full we go to the hostess stand to be seated. While it was empty, there were tables labeled reserved at about 2pm. We asked for a booth and the hostess said she would be right back. The waitress who recognized us sat us at a non labeled booth. Then what appeared to be the manager (Italian mid aged woman) comes to me and my husband and extremely confrontational states to me and my husband we cannot just sit anywhere we want and that she has several parties reserved. 1. Why not ask before you approach customers who not only come in 2+ times a week and have referred corporate parties here like that, but that’s neither here nor there. 2. We would never do that! We explained the waitress ok’d us to sit there. Then she just went on and on about how she has a mouth and has no problem ripping her hostess apart if it was her doing, which it wasn’t. I find this extremely unprofessional and honestly I had every intent of giving a piece of my mind but I chose to address in a review and hope the owners take this matter in their hands. She walks around with a rough presence and if I didn’t love this place so much I really was ready to never come back here again. After hearing what she said to me as a customer I can only imagine what the staff deals with. So to whom it may concern, I think you should be aware of...
Read moreWas at Optum with my grandbaby after picking her up from daycare. She was hungry so we decided to order a pie to go. (Moonbae, saw Luna…thought it was a celestial sign) When I got there, the ambiance was nice so I decided to order beers with my pie. I asked a busboy who was very helpful, I wasn’t able to get his name. He called my server Joe. When he came to take the order, I realized that this man passed us multiple times and never asked us if we wanted anything. He took our order, bought us the beers and didn’t return. We saw him at another table conversing with other patrons. We patiently waited because he was there awhile. We asked the busboy for our check and he went over to Joe and delivered the message. Joe continued his conversation. A couple of minutes go by and the busboy reminded Joe we were asking for our check and again he disregarded us. My wife eventually went to the bar to pay. Then Joe decided to wrap up his conversation with one table and proceeded to go to another table to converse! A couple of minutes go by and then eventually Joe passes by, not stopped, but passes by and ask if I want the bill. I started saying it’s ok , we got someone else to handle it but he didn’t stand still long enough to hear my completed sentence because he then went to the bar and asked my wife the same question. I really wanted to like this place. When leaving, the host checked in with me and I really appreciated that. She went out of her way to make sure I was another satisfied customer and I really wanted to be. The pizza...
