It was an awful experience. We visited eggs and things 11/16 with my parents, husband and kids while staying at Aulani resort.
When we went there we waited about 30min and we seated outside table. When stuff took us to the table we saw a lots of birds and bees flying around. As soon as we seated bunch of bees were flying around the table. My kids who are 5 and 7 were panic mode because of all the bees flying around them, like 10 bees were on the table. Not only bees but birds were looking for foods. They were watching for customers to leave and as soon as customer leaves they rushed to get foods on the table, not only few but like 20+ birds. It was absolutely disgusting to watch. So after 10min we couldn’t deal with it anymore so we asked to seat inside instead. I saw other people were asking to seat inside because of this mess. Customers who seated outside seems unhappy and keep swinging hands to keeping off bees and birds.
Then we went inside everything was fine, no more fighting with bees or birds. But while waiting for our foods to come, waiters were cleaning up other tables. Instead of bring plates straight back to the kitchen they trashed all waste food to the trash can next to the table and dragged bin around the restaurant. To be honest I do not want to see that all foods go to the bin before I even eat my own foods… I lost my appetite watching almost half of foods goes to the bin.
Anyway our foods arrived and it was ok. Portion is huge (mainly just many pancakes) but pancakes were dry. Sauce of porched eggs were greasy and salty. I liked potatoes but nothing really impressive about it. My husband orders mochi waffle which was pretty good! I wish they used real whipped cream because they didn’t taste like real whipped cream and later I looked it up and I found out that they did not use real cream from cow, made out of vegetable oil and other stuff ( I mean I shouldn’t expect real whipped cream when they use so much of it. )
Overall experience wasn’t great. This was our 3rd time visiting this restaurant because our kids loved pancakes with huge whipped cream. I feel like it used to be better pancake. However when I pay $150 for breakfast I would expect better experience. And hopefully outside seating situation will...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst!!! I have tried many times to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Wait times are horrendous!! Wait for EVERYTHING... 30-40 mins to sit; 10 mins for a greeting; 10 mins for water, etc. This final time going there; we decided to order take out. Ordered our food at 915AM was told 30 mins... ok, we’ll putts around. 40 mins goes by and I go in to ask about the food at the counter and no one is there. 2 staff members walking around at a snails pace filling waters and clearing plates. Now 3 people in line at the counter; 15 mins later and a staff member finally comes up to the counter. In this time I see 2 tables that were sat after us ordering close to finishing their meals. Come to find out my order is not ready...response is ‘I told him it would be 30 mins’; it’s been 45 according to the receipt. Walked out and continued to wait 20 more minutes. Return after I see many more to go bags accumulating at the bar top...go back in to see if the order is ready now and wait again for someone to help at the counter. Again a line starts to form and the staff member starts to help the gentleman behind because ‘she’s just waiting for food’; without even rechecking to see if my order was up. The host walks by with bags of food and I ask if he has an order under our name. Nope. He goes back to the multiple orders; checks and no. This is over an hour for breakfast take out!!! Asked the man how I get a refund and he states just manager right there; the same woman that was so rude to me. Ask for a refund; no problem... didn’t even do a final check to see if the food was up or even apologize....Went to grab my husband’s card to get a refund; but no need; “I can just pull it up”. At least they are efficient at one thing; probably happens a lot. My recommendation: bring your own chicken to lay some eggs and a hibachi; you’ll likely get...
Read moreHands down the worst customer service my family and I have ever experienced. We were absolutely shocked by how poorly we were treated at Eggs 'n Things in Kapolei. Our server, Triss, was completely inattentive, rude, and unprofessional from the moment we sat down.
She automatically assumed that we all wanted water, and we had to proceed to ask for different drinks. My father politely told her at the start that he wasn't ordering food and would just like his coffee refilled. A simple request. But Triss didn't check in once. He had to ask every single time for a refill.
Her tone, attitude, and overall demeanor made it clear she had no interest in giving us even basic service. My mother's salmon came out overcooked and bone dry, even though she specifically asked for it medium well. No apology. No follow-up. Nothing.
Then came the final disappointment. Triss handed us the card reader and casually said, "Automatic gratuity is included," without giving us a receipt of our bill OR explaining anything. The "automatic gratuity" she mentioned? $30 - thirty whole dollars added without warning, and for what? Bare minimum effort and a bad attitude?
When I asked for the receipt, she very RUDELY dropped it into my hand without saying a word. We were told this was "Eggs 'n Things policy" for parties of six or more. Well, here's the thing: Triss did not earn that $30 tip. Not even close.
We had to speak to the manager just to adjust the tip. And even after everything, we still gave her $10 out of principle. But it's either this restaurant reconsiders their automatic tipping policy or they start hiring people who actually deserve it.
This experience left us angry, disappointed, and completely disrespected. We will never return, and we'll be telling others to stay far away from...
