I was highly disappointed with their catering services for my wedding in April 2024. They threw away the appetizers, and not all guests had some. I didn’t understand why they didn’t let them have appetizers with their dinner and why they wasted that food. Also, they did not have any warmers or chafing dishes when I was told they would have them, so we had cold food. They ruined the food portion of our wedding.
There wasn’t enough food for our 64 guests, and we ordered a buffet for 68 guests and 15 vendors. So I don’t understand how we didn’t have enough!!! My parents did not even eat because they wanted all the guests to eat first and saw there was not enough food. We even had a whole roast pig, and there were no leftovers. We were told there should be plenty of the pig left over. I am distraught because I reached out to management with my concerns, and they did absolutely nothing about it, so I decided to write a review so no one else has this experience on their wedding day.
En Fuego’s manager told me that their employees and other workers were eating the food we had paid for when I was told En Fuego provides food for its employees. I work in the wedding industry, and I was completely surprised that this was the outcome for our catering from En Fuego because I expected a lot better. This makes me not want to recommend them to my clients because I would not want anyone else to have this happen to them.
I was really looking forward to having En Fuego cater for my wedding because I would frequently go there in high school and I like their garlic chicken. It’s one of my favs! Hopefully, the manager or owner finally gets back to me to address this because I have not heard...
Read moreThey recently completed renovations a couple of months ago? and everything looks great with digital screen menus and a take-out only counter! The dining area with sit down tables is no longer available so the space is smaller, but it seems like it’s how food places are doing it now with customer safety in mind.
You could easily order online but we decided on the spot to just order there... good to know for the next time we plan ahead. We usually get their pastele stew (super hearty and chunky) and balance it with the sweeter squid luau, but this time tried some new items like Cold Ginger Ahi (seared! or can be fully cooked) and Hoisin glazed ribs. SOOO yummy!!! My family also got some favorites like mochiko chicken and a combo plate of mahi with garlic creme sauce + garlic chicken. We should have gotten one less plate because there was so much food, but plenty of leftovers for later! Pricing seems to be pretty comparable to other restaurants, but we got fresh fish (not frozen, I asked!) and really tasty items so everything is worth the value we paid. I can’t think of many other places that offer a great mix of local dishes that’ll satisfy all our preferences in the Kapolei area.
Since the space is smaller, we followed social distance guides and waited to go inside to order, then chose to wait outside while the food was being prepared. There is outside seating and tables if you want to eat right away, but it looks like it’s not part of En Fuego so anyone can sit but we took our food to go. They gave all the individually wrapped utensils and napkins so we enjoyed as soon as...
Read morePlaced a phone order for some bentos for lunch. Was ready in 15 minutes. Uber kept saying it was too far to do a delivery, but the driving route was only 1.5 miles away (6 mins approx). The prices were reasonable and the portions were acceptable. I ordered a few garlic bento and soccer bento for a mini luncheon. One comment from a friend that ate one of the bentos said this was the best so far she's had this year (soccer bento). She'd had several recently (parties/funerals) and this was better than any of the others. I'd order bentos from here again to take on a picnic or beach day, if I was heading out that way, but they open at lunch time so it's not that convenient if I were heading out...
