My sister and I tried Koa Pancake House for brunch one Tuesday. She said she always passed by it but hadn't gotten a chance to try it so we decided to give it a shot.
Order at the counter, find a table, and they will bring your food to you. Prices are really cheap and portions are big - my favorite kind of combination. Where else can you get an eggs benedict for less than $9?! That's unheard of! That's what my sister ordered. I wasn't a fan because I don't like Hollandaise sauce in general, but she enjoyed it.
I ordered the fried rice with one egg, which comes with your choice of spam or Portuguese sausage. I went with spam and also had a side order of the mac salad. The fried rice is nice and flavorful. They make it with ham and green onions. It wasn't too greasy either like a lot of fried rice tends to be.
We also ordered the strawberry cheesecake pancakes. I thought it would be a strawberry cheesecake flavored batter but this wasn't the case. It was just regular pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. I'm not sure where the cheesecake comes in, so I was a little disappointed but the pancakes themselves were good, nonetheless.
I'd definitely come back and try their loco moco - seems like one of their other more...
Read moreWe decided to check this place out one early morning Sunday. There was no one else in the place. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The plates were decently priced.
I got the eggs benedict with Canadian bacon. It was presented beautifully and had a lot of hollandaise sauce. It was alright. Nothing that blew my socks off, but was still good. My husband got some kind of omelet with home friend potatoes. He said it was good.
The coffee here was disappointing though. Not sure what brand of coffee they make, but it tasted burnt. I’m not sure if all businesses know that you have to change the coffee out every hour before it starts to get that burnt taste, but I’m not entirely sure that was the culprit in this case or if it was just the roast of the coffee they used… or maybe it was a combination.
In a pinch, I would come back here for breakfast. It’s decent food at a good price. I just wouldn’t get the...
Read moreI cannot say enough how impressed my family and I were to eat here. This was our first time and it won't be our last. When you first arrive you order at the front counter before finding a seat. The person helping us at the cash register was super patient. She answered all of our questions and made sure she got our order correctly before ringing us up. She gave us our drink cups and we found our table. Our food quickly followed after that. Everything was hot and freshly cooked. The pancakes were fluffy. The omelette was well cooked. The toasted bread had butter on them. Everything was delicious. When they delivered our food they kept checking to make sure we got everything we had ordered and gave us plenty of napkins for the kids. I highly recommend this Koa Pancake location. We really enjoyed the service...
