Read morePRO TIPS: before we get to the food, service and parking review-- I've been coming here to Longhi's for 10+ years just for the golden sunsets (see pic). Before it was called Longhi's, it was known as Chuck's. Surprisingly Longhi's restaurant has been open since 1976 on Maui, however this review is for the Ko Olina (Oahu) location. We actually stopped coming here years ago (when it was Chuck's) because the quality of service dropped so dramatically. However, Bob Longhi has VASTLY improved the service & created some rather delightful dishes - So it's earned a revisit. The focus here is on Italian Hawaiian fusion with incredible sunset views on the beach to add to the dinner ambiance. LOCATION-- Longhis can be found at the Marriott Vacation Club Resort. This Ko Olina resort area only has a few fine dining options so reservations are a must when you compare it with the volume of tourists here. Alternatives if Longhi's is booked include (Disney Aulani, Monkeypod or Roys). PARKING-- Longhi's is on the Leeward (west) dry side of Oahu at Honu Lagoon, near Kapolei. Marriot Ko Olina offers valet parking that can be validated for up to three (3) hours. Be sure you get your ticket!! Alternatively, you can get free beach parking for the lagoon but it generally filled up fast. This resort is MASSIVE so make your way to the 1st floor of the resort. You will find the resort wheelchair accessible, with easy traffic flows, elevators, and attentive valet staff. If you Uber here from Honolulu, expect to pay around $70-90 depending on peak times with an estimated 30+ minute drive. CV19 COVID restrictions have been lifted here at the resort. RESERVATIONS-- they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. it's highly recommended you get reservations since there is a lack of fine dining options for the high volume of guests of Ko Olina. Longhi's can handle large reservations too. SERVICE-- Vastly improved since the old days of Chuck's. We felt the aloha spirit here from check in, seating, attentive wait staff, fast drink refills to a knowledgeable waiter who made us feel like a guest in his home. It was just the right amount of time between meals where you were not waiting too long between courses. FOOD-- ITALIAN Hawaiian fusion experience is the best way to describe it. That's the differentiator for Longhi's and THEY DELIVER an amazing rainbow of flavors in your mouth. The complimentary bread with lilikoi butter starts the experience. Everything on the menu can meet your guests tastes from vegan, vegetarian to gluten free options. The kids menu will meet their restless needs. If you don't know what to order, then the macadamia encrusted anything works along with pasta shrimp or the fish of the day. Appetizers are varied based on personal tastes, however the zucchini and it's sauce (see pic) will elevate your taste buds. The crab cakes and fried calamari appetizers are delightful too for a gateway into the entree. DESSERTS-- I'm torn here on the lava cake and ice cream. You must order this minimum 30 mins before your meal so they have time to prepare. The lava cake, while served HOT & freshly made on site, did not serve our taste buds. Our expectations was an over abundance of certain flavors based on the description however it did NOT meet our expectations.. Average lava cake at best for a 30 min pre order. Just remember to order it BEFORE your meal. HUGE wine menu and the liquor drinks are not to "syrupy" VIEWS/AMBIANCE-- TO DIE FOR. Literally. Beautiful architecture. Incredible sunset views (see the pics). Request a sunset view on the pond. AWARENESS: On Tuesdays, the Marriott Resort offers a Luau so be aware of the crowds attending the luau with it's related noise levels --this may disrupt your peace. OVERALL: thank you Longhi's for helping to fill our birthday celebration with the Aloha spirit and giving us some.wonderful tastes to remember our island trip. We will...
Decided to have an early Mother's Day brunch the day before at a "seemingly" nice location with great reviews. Was a bit disappointed in our actual experience. First, we had a reservation for 11a and checked in about 10:50a, was told by hostess that there was a wait period still because a party was ahead of us. Unsure what the point of a reservation is at this point. After being seated at 11:15a, I noticed the establishment was not crowded on the inside, as there were several tables throughout the restaurant that were empty. We did not see our Server for the next 15 minutes which is when we then received our drinks. We then decided to put in an order for appetizers. The apps came out in a decent time frame, only took about 10 minutes. However, once we placed our orders for our meals, we sat at the table for nearly 1 hour waiting for our food. There was a party nearby who arrived 30 minutes before us, and received their food right at about the 1hour 15 minute mark according to them. Although we had already ordered a couple drinks, we were on the verge of getting up and leaving due to the wait time, despite our food orders already being placed.
I ordered the Fettuccine Lombardi which was mostly drenched in a cream "soup". The flavor of the chicken was good, but the pasta sauce did not have much flavor to it and was for the most part, tasteless. The portions are relatively small for the price you pay. One member of our party ordered a steak medium rare, ended up receiving a steak that was medium-well. They did not want to send the steak back in fear of having to wait nearly another hour for their food.
The server did do their best to attempt to save the experience, but the wait time for our food was incredibly long for the quality of food we received. I am unsure what was going on that day, but our first time experience here left us feeling extremely disappointed that day and will most likely not be returning in the future.
The atmosphere was maybe the only saving grace for this location. The surrounding area is nice, but if I wanted to see the surrounding area, I'd just walk around outside of the restaurant to view...
Read moreThe restaurant is located in the Marriott Hotel on the Leeward side of Oahu. Lagoon 4. The views here are amazing. The sunset, and local/island people are beautiful!!
Make sure when driving up to the Marriott you get your ticket. Longhi's there is valet parking for up to 3 hours. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor in the Marriott Hotel. The place is wheel chair accessible and there are elevators.
If you have a big party then reservations are a MUST. As usual we had a party of 12. Celebrating my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. Due to COVID-check in was a bit of a wait due to showing proof of vaccination or negative COVID test. (Mask needed to be worn)
The food here is absolutely amazing!! It is pricey but it is worth it. They start you off with complimentary bread and lilikoi butter.-then drinks ....(delicious)
We had some good appetizers. We ordered the crab cakes, caprese salad, zucchini fritta, and fried calamari. Everything was amazing!! The kids even enjoyed the appetizers.
The main entree's were even better!! We all ordered different dishes: Macadamia encrusted mahi mahi with Ube mash, Salmon and mashed potatoes, Rib eye steaks with mash, Pasta with shrimp, Veal with sauteed mushrooms. The kids had burgers and tenders. Dessert everyone ordered lava cake and ice cream. (Let me suggest-when ordering this dessert order it before your meal 30 min) it also says it on the menu. They make the cake FRESH!!
Everyone enjoyed their meal from Longhi's. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The staff here were very attentive, friendly, and just over all the best restaurant I have been to in a long time. Great service, atmosphere,...
