ORIGINAL: In Aiea's Teddy's Bigger Burgers we dined, A tale of mild discontent, now I unwind. For the scene I shall set, An experience I won't soon forget.
Once with hope, I stepped inside, Craving a meal that would satisfy. But alas, dear reader, my hopes were dashed, Teddy's Bigger Burgers left me somewhat abashed.
Their burger, a mess, a jumble so bold, A landslide of toppings, a story untold. Oh, the disordered state within the bun, A culinary misstep, but the night was young.
The onion rings, a bit too seasoned, quite odd, Their flavors obscured, as if under a shroud. Salt, a tad overzealous, a noticeable feature, But surely, a forgivable creature.
The fries, overcooked, a touch too crisp, Their texture a challenge, but not to dismiss. A learning experience, a room to improve, Their potential, I'm sure, they'll eventually prove.
Dear Teddy's Bigger Burgers, I hope you take note, A few small changes could keep you afloat. With a lighter heart, I pen this review, Two stars I grant thee, for...
Read moreThis is probably the biggest swing in quality I think I've ever seen at a restaurant.
We went here once a few days ago, and had such a fantastic experience, we brought our whole family for dinner one night. Great burgers, friendly staff, the works.
This second time was such a poor experience, we're probably never coming back, regardless of how good the first time was.
EVERY SINGLE ITEM our ENTIRE table recieved was incorrect. And not just once; we had to send our orders back up to FOUR TIMES for them to get it right. Whether it was a raw burger (see pics), incorrect toppings, or an entirely wrong item, something was wrong with literally everything. It was around 8pm (they close at 9pm), so it's very obvious the kitchen staff totally checked out mentally.
Speaking of it being 8pm, all deep-fried items (tater tots, fried chicken, etc.) were disgusting and dark brown because the fry oil obviously hadn't been changed in a hot minute (see my pics). Those items just tasted like acrid, burnt oil.
We're also pretty sure we recieved a small fry instead of a large, but the person who brought us our food walked away without acknowledging our question about it, so that felt like a slap in the face considering a large fry here is like, $7.00.
The vanilla milkshake we ordered was super thin and flavorless... it basically tasted like partially-frozen milk. This was a huge disappointment since burger places are known for killer shakes and we really wanted that classic fries-dipped-in-shake experience. Not to mention we had to wait until after most people's food came out to get the shake, which may explain the melted texture.
For just my wife and I, it was over $41.00. This place makes Five Guys pricing seem reasonable.
Hugely disappointing; we won't be making the mistake of...
Read moreDisclaimer. Food is good if they actually make it correctly.
The service is appalling. I went from eating 2-3 times a week to none. Haven't been back to the place in about a year now. Like I said, the food is great, but never once was there a flawless encounter.
Some encounters: -Wrong food -overcooked chicken to the point you could not bite it (wife's... I eat burgers.. Lol) -charged for the wrong order -charged for the wrong order part 2. Cashier came to the table to inform me that I needed to pay more because they rang it up wrong the first time.
Not all big deals.. But when something happens EVERY time.. It gets old.
The final straw. We placed a pick up order over the phone to reduce some wait time. When I arrived the order wasn't ready so I paid and took a seat. 20 minutes goes by and I ask if the order is ready, and it isnt. I sit back down, noting that it is a little busy. I play some games on my phone as another 20 minutes goes by. The order still isn't ready. Frustrated now, i made a mental note of the people walking in. They placed their order, waited, got it, and left. We are now an hour in and I ask why I had waited for an hour when other meals were done. They didn't BELIEVE me until I showed them my receipt with the timestamp. They then took my receipt to go make the order because they couldn't find their copy. 25 minutes later I got my order with a bare minimum sorry. Good thing I called my order in to save time.
Again.. I will say the food is good if they do not screw it up. But this particular place botched up more than 2 dozen visits. This was over a year ago. Might have more competent people...
