I ordered a pizza, I was given a wheel of bread on which some toppings and sauce had fallen
This isn't the first time I've had an issue when ordering from this location. I don't know if it has something to do with the uniform I wear or maybe the color of my skin. Every time I walk in to pickup my order, they take extra time giving me my order after it has come out of the oven and had at least 15-20 minutes to cool.
This time, the employees were way behind with about 5-7 pizzas sitting on the board waiting to be served up. Mine sat there for a bit, then they put it into a box and both looked at me and whispered between themselves and put it in the warmer under their cash register. They continued to serve up several other pizzas to people and then finally acknowledged me standing right in front of them and asked me if I was waiting on something. All I had to say is that I had an online order and he/she immediately opened the warmer and handed me the pizza without even looking at the receipt, because there was no receipt on the box. They knew which pizza was mine and that I was waiting on it. They wanted me to wait a good deal longer.
When they finally served up my pizza, the picture shown is what I got. A wheel of bread on which it appears some toppings fell from nearby pizzas. This is the quality they give these days at this place? A 10" pizza means each piece is 5" from corner to crust. I have about 3" of crust there with no toppings or even sauce to cover the bread. So about 20% of my pizza has toppings on it. This is straight robbery advertising you make pizzas but giving me a wheel of bread with nearly no toppings whatsoever.
I also noticed another individual wearing a military uniform who was there with his family while I was waiting for 40 minutes for my pizza (which was done in 20 minutes but they wanted to make me wait). He and his family were there before I even walked in and he got up to ask them the status of his order. People who walked in an ordered after I walked in got their food before me and this gentleman and his family still did not have their order when I was given my pizza.
There is certainly some sort of discrimination going on at this place. Maybe it's our uniform, maybe it's the color of our skin. This should probably be investigated.
Likewise, their employees are regularly touching the paper your food is placed on with their bare hands, stacking pizzas on the wooden board behind the register because they're too slow to get orders out quickly, and they slide the spatula (used to move the pizzas to the serving trays or to-go boxes) under the cutting board behind the register where there's a bunch of dried food and crumbs waiting to contaminate the spatula. Seems like some health code violations are happening...
Read moreIt was underwhelming to say the less. I have heard of pieology for a while from friends and all have positive comments and reviews. Today was my son’s 8th birthday so I decided to take him somewhere different because pizza is his favorite choice of food. As we were waiting on line to be called next I experienced one of the worst encounter from any restaurant. Not a hello, just pure monotone, no smiles from anyone I encountered. It’s like no one wanted to be there to help us. They chose to work there but yet they were not happy to be there to help us. It is just so sad to see. As I was walking down the line to pay I finally encountered a smile from the cashier. She was very nice. I told her we had. 2 pizzas, 1 garlic cheese beard, 2 cookies , and 4 drinks. Our total came out to be $51. It was okay and my expectations were high considering all the good things I have heard. As we wait my family were eating the sample cookies that was provided and had some soft drinks. Once we got our food we started eating and the first piece of garlic cheese bread I ate I felt something funny in my mouth. I pulled it out and it was a cooper color metal wire that was about 3-4 inches long. It was shocking to me so I show the nice cashier on the counter. She just came with a disposable glove and pick it up and told me it was probably from one of the cleaning brushes. She apologized and I just lost my appetite. My family all didn’t enjoy our first experience there and it will just be like that from now on. My experience will be shared with anyone who would ask me and I will tell them the same story I just share with you here. I just feel there is lack of management and lack of training and positive customer engagement. There is just nothing. It’s just like they don’t care. I just wish you guys the...
Read moreThis place is probably the best option on the leeward side for fresh pizza.
The lines here can be a little long, but its worth the wait at least once. They have an order online option, but you don’t get to see exactly how much of the topping they are actually putting on.
So this place allows you to build your pizza exactly how you want it. You can choose your crust, your sauce, cheese, and all the toppings. Everything seems to be fresh and of good quality here. You just go down the line and tell them what you want. Don’t feel rushed or embarrassed to ask for more of something, just make your perfect pizza! Afterwards they will bake it for you and add any additional sauce toppers if you elected to do so.
Pizzas are under $12 no matter how much topping you ask for.
I like how they have local ingredients here too… kalua pork, spam, and Portuguese sausage. And a few pleasant surprises (a few of my favorites are ricotta cheese, artichoke, and sundried tomatoes). You’ll find that some of the staff will put a “normal” amount of stuff on there, some will put a single handful of cheese on the pizza when you ask for cheese after the sauce… like I said, its good to order in person so you can see exactly how much is being put on there and get it to your liking.
They offer alcoholic beverages if you are dining in such as beer and wine. In addition to regular fountain drinks, they offer teas and lemonades. If available, I like to mix the green tea with the mango lemonade (try it, you’ll thank me).
If you are in the mood for something different for pizza, I highly suggest this place.
TLDR; Go inside and order so you can see how much they are putting on your pizza. Take your time, don’t be shy to ask for more. Great price, fresh and exciting...
