Candy Cloud - Oak Creek — Restaurant in Oak Creek

I'm sad now. We've driven by this place for the last couple of months excited to try drinks here and I hate that I'm utterly disappointed.

Let me start by saying, I really want to like this place.

✱ ATMOSPHERE ✱ I love fun, cute and colorful drinks, visually appealing branding, and the 1940's cartoon inspired art on their merchandise. I love being able to order without having to talk to someone (which, by the way, self-serve appears to be the primary way of ordering — though I did see a bell-button to alert a worker available at the front beside the kiosks). The aluminum tabbed sealed cans are awesome and they show off how cool the drinks look. That's where the 4/5 atmosphere comes from. Docked one star because my stool was weirdly wobbly and the tables by the window are too crammed together to comfortably seat the 3 tables + 3-4 stools each have. Sadly, these are the only positive things I can say about this place.

✱ SERVICE ✱ They gave us someone else's drink and when we went back in to let them know, they went to the back and grabbed our actual drink right away. The drinks all have the customers' name on them. 'Nuff said. Below average, 2/5.

✱ FOOD ✱ We ordered: Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bites Dubai Chocolate Latte (with oat milk) Some other drink (it wasn't for me so I'm only detailing my experiences)

The cinnamon sugar donut bites tasted weirdly.. stale? Old? I don't know if it's whatever it was cooked in but they're pretty bad. There was also a bunch of burnt black stuff on the donut. Now I sit here eating another bite just to describe it to you, it's the type of fat it's cooked in or contained within it that just tastes awful. Inconsistent cinnamon-sugaring on there. Just.. not worth it, glad we only got 3.

The Dubai chocolate latte broke my heart. I explicitly chose oat milk because I find it to be one of the best backdrops for chocolate and nuts, plus delicious with coffee, rich and creamy - I gave it the best chance I could. I don't taste any coffee first off. None. Nada. Second, the chocolate portion reminds me of when you add far too much milk to chocolate syrup and it barely resembles the flavor of chocolate. Yes it looks the color, barely, but it sure doesn't taste anything like chocolate (I tried it before I stirred the drink and after, neither sip resembled chocolate). Now the pistachio or whatever nut syrup that was used was the worst part somehow. It leaves a really bad aftertaste in your mouth along with a film that means you continue to taste it. The syrup has an unpleasant bitter quality to it. It still tastes like pistachio but it's so weak and short-lived, it's immediately replaced with that bitter almost chemically taste. It somehow tastes watered down despite it being drunk right away. No stirring did not help. Extremely unpleasant and disappointing. Easy to nail such an iconic and popular delicious flavor but this was just gross. 1/5 (Bad)

Again, I really, REALLY wish I could like this, but I just can't. I don't know how the reviews are so positive when there are other similar experiences, in particular with the baked goods not being up to snuff. Last time I checked, 2.5 is numerically what "average" means - it's right in the middle. 5 means blew your expectations out of the water. This was bad and disappointing, so 1.

Yes atmosphere was great, but I don't look for atmosphere when I want something tasty to drink or eat.

This place is clearly one that caters to social media - it looks fantastic, and you'll definitely get some nice photos out of it, but that's it. The substance that is there is regrettable and gross, almost perplexingly so given it's supposed to be fun tasty drinks and yummy sugared donuts.

Come here if you want a pretty picture with a can. I'll pass next time though. I truly wish...

I’ve been to Candy Cloud about a few times now. I’m not a regular but I’ve ordered from there quite a bit and I also have their rewards app. I have to say they are not consistent with their drinks. It makes me sooo sad because when it’s made correctly it’s worth it!

I ordered ahead of time last week Saturday and picked up my purple potion drink that had ice filled 3/4 of my regular cup. It straight up tasted like water when I got home. It didn’t taste like there was any sweetener or oat milk that I had requested to be in it, so I drove back. I ringed the bell and the manager (I think) helped me. I asked if I could get a refund or have it be remade because it only tasted like water. He had asked if I did a pick up order and when I told him I did, he proceeded to tell me that it must’ve watered down. Like no, I’ve done pick up orders before and it’s not ever tasted like only water. He dismissed my feelings and just made me feel invalidated. He remade my order but it honestly just felt half assed and he still put a shit ton of ice back in the drink lol. I was super nice about it too because it was busy but I expected better especially from the manager!

I’ve also ordered their birthday cake pops another time and it was badddd. Not sure if it was a bad batch that day but the cake part was so gritty, I didn’t finish it. It did not taste like a normal cake pop.

Like another reviewer said the drinks are made for social aesthetics (pics below). The atmosphere there is great and it’s cute. Pick up orders is kind of inconsistent and I don’t like that. There’s been a couple times I’ve ordered in store while they were slow and they still get my drinks wrong. And, their customer service can be sooooo much better. I want to love Candy Cloud but from these experiences it’s hard. I’m sure I’ll still go since I live 5 mins away but probably won’t be back as much as I did in...

I have been to this location 3 times now within the last week or so and I was disappointed with my order today that I placed for pick up. I paid for extra bacon on both sandwiches which neither had and I ordered a Skinny Butterfly Lavender Lemonade as I usually order and it looked and tasted nothing like the other 2 times I've had it. I am disappointed with the inconsistency of my drink. Customers pay the steep price of $7 sometimes more per drink for the pleasing presentation of how the drinks look. With my drink not looking or tasting the same as the other 2 times I ordered it, I am not even sure I had the correct drink given to me which makes it very hard for the customer to trust that they're being given the correct drink that they ordered. I plan to give this location one more chance but if I receive another inconsistent order, I will not...
