Food was alright. Nothing too spectacular. They have a large menu with a ton of options for all tastes. My wife got the pumpkin pancakes and really enjoyed them so she'd give it a 4 or 5 star. They were cooked well and the scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy.
I ordered the biscuits and gravy and a side of the "Million Dollar Bacon". I grew up in the south. I've come to expect biscuits and gravy to be different up here than what I'm used to but these ones just weren't good. The gravy tasted grainy and the biscuits were good inside but the crust on them was over done. There was little to no sausage in the gravy itself and there was so much of it that it was almost a soup. Visually it looked unappetizing as well. The eggs and potatoes were really good though.
The million dollar bacon did not live up to its name. It was a bit overcooked, tasted a bit burnt which the flavor of that overpowered the maple syrup on it. If it was cooked properly I think it would've been better but the burnt char flavor, which can taste good on plain bacon if you like that style, overpowered the sweet flavor intended by the syrup. I love bacon, I never let a piece go to waste, I think it makes almost any dish better, and I left two pieces on the plate here. That says a lot for me. Definitely not worth the $5 for 4 pieces.
I do have to say the plate size was a bit small, with the dish for the biscuits and gravy on it, and made it really difficult to eat the eggs and potatoes but it was just a bit too big to make it comfortable to take it off and move the plates around, nitpicking but it was a noticable inconvenience and plating at a place like this that had good food presentstion on many dishes we saw seems important to them.
Service was good. Waiters came a decent amount but not too much, a small wait to be seated but not bad for a Saturday brunch time, especially compared to other area brunch locations.
Overall its a decent spot. Not great. Don't think I'd frequent it even though I live very close by, but I wouldn't turn it down if someone...
Read moreVisited first watch today for the first time but definitely not the last time because it is now my new favorite breakfast spot since first impressions mean everything and they delivered beyond my expectations. I visited for the first time with my girlfriend and her children and we all appreciated the atmosphere and ambiance of everything as soon as he walked in the doors we were greeted by a friendly server and the entire restaurant was filled with customers who are in a good mood and enjoying so many different dishes that I wanted to ask all of the customers what they were eating LOL the restaurant itself is pretty large with more than enough walking around room plus the high ceilings just make everything seem bigger and the large wall style windows were my favorite because it was a beautiful sunny day while still being on the cold side so we were able to enjoy the view without the chill . my girlfriend ordered the classic eggs benedict which looked crazy delicious and might be what I get next time we go again while I chose the healthy turkey omelette with no cheese or tomatoes along with an English muffin with preserves and a bowl of grits and by the way First Watch has no problem customizing your order to the way you want so don't be shy about asking because the staff is incredibly friendly and Incredibly helpful when it comes to making sure you get what you want. The kids ordered off the children's menu both went with the pancakes one of the orders being chocolate chip and those things look as big as a stop sign!! and they both enjoyed them very much and mentioned how soft and fluffy they were plus my girlfriend ordered a new coffee drink which I believe had white chocolate and honey in it and it was delicious and the most important thing is that we all left Fuller and happier so I can't wait for...
Read moreMy wife and I wated to go some place where we could relax from our hard days work, while eating some good food. We arrived at First Watch and asked a hostess to be seated. We were seated at a table where there were loud obnoxious kids running around. I asked the hostess if we could sit inside a booth somewhere else instead, immediately she gave me a very bad attitude that was very unprofessional complaining that she had to clean the tables off first. I was waiting by the booth that was getting cleaned by someone else, and the same hostess with an attitude clearly saw me waiting there, but decided to seat other people there who came in 10 minutes after us. I was visibly frustrated and tried talking to her, but she walked by me with another attitude, stuck her hand ✋️ up to her face as if she was trying to avoid me like the plague and said loudly, "you need to wait, I'm busy!" I don't think it's unreasonable or uncommon for a paying customer to ask to sit somewhere else. She Made us feel like I was inconveniencing her. My wife and I decided to leave and eat somewhere else, but then a gentleman by the name of Sebastian came outside and asked us if everything was okay, after explaining our issue about the hostess, he convinced us to go back in. He was understanding, kind, accommodating, and professionl. He ended up being our server as well. 5 star rating for Sebastian. The Manager, Jamie heard about our incident, brought our food to our table, and sat down with us to talk about the hostesses poor behavior. She was very professional, understanding, and said she would take care of the unfortunate situation. So long as that hostess isn't there to give us more grief, we will definitely be visiting this...
