Came in to order to go food, the bartender seemed uninterested and quickly told us there was a 45 min wait for food. Did I mention there were only three patrons in the place. Okay, I get it, maybe it’s low staffing but anyways, so we order, we were hungry. Food was finished in 30 min, so lucky for us it wasn’t that long. Got home to open our boxes and found the measliest tuna tacos (it was mostly soft shell, filled 1/4 of the way, being generous on that 1/4) and the coldest and oldest string fries. My mother ordered a Reuben that barely had an interior filling it and I order tuna ahi nachos. The tuna was to be cooked medium and was more like overcooked mahi, not even certain it was tuna. The Lime crema was good but sauce doesn’t fill your belly. So needless to say, after $78 worth of food was a total rip off. Cute inside of building but cutting your service off online for ordering and going in to the restaurant to order isn’t worth it guys. Take it from me— don’t even order from here. Oh yeah, not to mention the 20%...
Read moreMy wife and I heard about Tipsy Tuna through other local friends and we decided to check it out one evening. We usually try to not go to Oak Island to eat during the summer, however this place is worth the trip.
For those of us who knew this as Chasers will be pleasantly surprised as you walk through the doors. It’s well lit, TV’s everywhere and the food is fantastic. I had a flounder and shrimp basket my wife had a club.
Tiffany one of the new owners was helping behind the bar. It very obvious her and her husband have poured their blood sweat and tears in this new restaurant/bar. The other bartender Brandy is very bubbly and has an upbeat demeanor even when they are swamped.
Last but certainly not least was Olive also very friendly and probably hasn’t met a stranger.
If you’re in town for a visit or live here this needs to be on your list to check out.
Thanks for everything y’all. See...
Read moreJeremiah (an owner I found out later) greeted us at the door with a smile and energetic welcome. Awesome start! He took us to a table and got the kids crayons and coloring sheets and asked about my daughters stuffed cat she brought with her which made her beam. He kept coming back and brought us little sample plates of things to try and really took the time to make sure we were happy and having a great time. This type of customer service only comes from someone who is passionate about what they do and passionate about people. I will be bringing my family back to Tipsy Tuna every vacation from now on! This guy made my whole day being so nice and accommodating to me and my family! Food was great, service and atmosphere were top tier. Thank you! (And thanks for...
