The food is good but there is always a different “limited to go menu”, each time I call, which is annoying. I’ve tried coming here several times and I enjoy it, but probably won’t return because it’s frustrating.

Reading through the reviews, the owner responded to a review saying “we do egg plates, and obviously you don’t understand why we can’t do pancakes” to a customer, but it’s not just pancakes or waffles that they include in this limited to go menu. It doesn’t seem the owner cares to explain anything to his customers, just responds with nothing helpful. I am a business owner, and I’m surprised there are no “thank you’s” on good reviews, only “smart-Ellic” responses to bad reviews. That alone makes me question if this is a good small business to support.

One day we can order an old bridge breakfast to go (minus the pancake or waffle) and a different day they will say it’s a limited to go menu and you can’t get the old bridge breakfast.

Consistency would be helpful, so we can plan where we want to go based off of past orders. Old Bridge and Locals are the only places I’ve found with breakfast like this, and so far Locals has never had a limited to...

This is classic diner atmosphere and food. We did breakfast here, while visiting Oak Island. This is solid comfort food done well. Eggs, bacon and hash browns were perfect. The biscuit and waffle were works of art. My only real complaint was with service. When our waitress came to the table, we greeted her and tried engaging with her a little, but she was abrupt and all business. Everyone has bad days. We just ordered and thought nothing of it. However, when serving other tables around us, she was bubbly and cheerful. We have lived in North Carolina for years, proud to call this home, and have enjoyed the friendly hospitality here. Occassionally, we encounter someone who harbors a dislike, either actively or passively because we have the "wrong accent". Every time our waitress came to our table, she abruptly changed her demeanor, and in her passive way, made it clear we were not welcome. What a shame. I am sure that is not representative of all the staff. We found another breakfast spot during our stay, where we were warmly welcomed. Good food alone will not bring...

Food was and always has been pretty good-diner quality but consistent. Server was friendly enough. The “greeter” had zero personality. Multi colored hair. Asked our name and handed us the buzzer-not another word. When it went off we handed her back the buzzer-she pointed to her right (from her chair in the vestibule) and said sit there. No eye contact-nothing. The only words from the lady who cashed us out was “ are you leaving a tip on this”-had already left cash. Not did you enjoy your meal, thanks, come again, nothing. As we left the “greeter” was talking with another employee in the vestibule-not a word. We have always recommended this place but this has been our experience the last few times. Will go back to Locals. I know business is tough with increasing prices but all the more reason to make folks feel like you appreciate their business. Simple courtesies...

This breakfast place was highly recommended to us. It was a weekend morning, but it was so packed. We were told it would be about a 15 minute wait. It ended up being an hour and 10 minutes. It's kind of a little dive, and the food was good, although I don't think it was worth that long of a wait. I think most any breakfast place would be about the same quality. Most irritating is we checked the prices on their website. They were so inexpensive that with 8 of us we thought it would be the perfect place. As it turns out most prices were between 2-3 times that posted on their website. They definitely need to have someone keep it updated if they are going to have a website for people to look at. I wouldn't go again just because it wasn't as fabulous and inexpensive as we expected.

Folks, align your expectations! This is not a fancy Michelin star restaurant, it is basically a local Waffle House type place, but much better!! They always are busy and there is a good reason - fast flavorful food and friendly service! My wife and I sat at the bar yesterday morning for a great brunch! I is actually quite entertaining watching just how efficient the line cooks are! They are getting it!! My wife loved her eggs Benedict! And my loaded gravy biscuit was delicious!! We also had a pancake each and it was pretty tasty! The only very minor thing was that I had asked for cheese in my scrambled eggs and they forgot it, but it was still great! I think you will be pleased with your breakfast, to those about to nosh, I salute you!!

Amazing food, wonderful service. The wait time to get a table wasn’t too bad either (approx. 20-30 minutes for a table of 5). No issues in calling for a waiter- our waiter came around every 5-ish minutes to ask how we were doing and refill our drinks. I ordered two pancakes, two slices of French toast, and a side of fruit. I think my food was around 10 dollars. The French toast had a lot of cinnamon. It was a bit too strong for my taste, but my sister liked it a lot. I loved the pancakes! They were a bit bigger than I was expecting (~6 inches wide), but what I didn’t eat, I put into a takeout box. They were thick, fluffy, and very sweet- everything you want when you want to divulge a little.
