During a recent trip to Oak Island, we decided to try the noodle house. We initially planned to dine in but quickly realized it’s more of a takeout spot. The dining room had only two tables, and it was swelteringly hot inside—I felt bad for the hardworking staff!
The gentleman who took our order was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they had our food ready in just 10 minutes. The portions were generous, and everything was piping hot when we got it.
Overall, we were satisfied with our meals and would consider ordering there again. However, it didn’t quite measure up to the now-closed “Thai By the Sea,” which we miss dearly. I ordered the drunken noodles, and while they were flavorful, the amount of meat was disappointingly sparse—seriously, there might have been 2 tablespoons of chicken, tops. I understand that the noodles are the star, but a little more protein would have been appreciated.
My wife enjoyed her meal, though it also felt a bit underwhelming. The crab Rangoon, however, was a standout—crispy and flavorful!
All in all, it’s a decent takeout spot worth a try, but not something we’ll be rushing back to anytime soon.

Read moreWOW! This is a hidden gem...absolutely delicious spicy udon noodles and fresh, homemade ice cream. They go surprisingly well together. The woman running the shop gave us our ice cream while we waited for our food...we had to stop halfway through so we still had room for noodles. The portions are HUGE and generous! The small ice cream was about 3x as big as I expected and so freaking delicious. Mango was the best ice cream I've ever had...you could taste the fresh mangoes and cream with every bite. Udon meals came with fresh salads with delicious peanut dressing. The exterior and interior could use makeovers to match the delicious food but don't let that discourage you from making this a regular stop when you visit oak island. Can't wait...
Read moreGreat food for absolutely great prices! A true hidden gem that is easy to miss if you aren’t paying attention. My family and I tried the udon noodles, cashew chicken, fried rice, and spring rolls. Everything was absolutely delicious. Probably some of the best prepared Asian food I’ve ever had. Nothing was at all greasy and was prepared perfectly. The udon noodles were super soft and spicy. Easily enough for 3 portions and it was only $12! The spring rolls are full of flavor and come with a chili sauce that is honestly phenomenal on its own. The fried rice is also super good, and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t even like fried rice😅. Definitely check...
