I had a friend visiting from out of town, and we decided to try this spot on a Friday morning and had a lovely experience. Everyone who works here was warm and friendly, greeting us with genuine smiles. The atmosphere was so chill and peaceful, and we were able to carry on conversation easily. I got a festive iced fall drink (some kind of pumpkin, apple macchiato deal) and it was soooo good and somehow not overly sweet. I did the build your own scramble and got chicken sausage, goat cheese, and avocado along with the potatoes, and it came with a slice of banana bread french toast and fresh fruit. It looked beautiful (my friend and I both commented that we were not people who take pics of our food, but it was so lovely we were tempted to do so), and tasted delicious. It was also the perfect amount of food, which never happens—I think it’s advertised as being a smaller scramble, but it was just right. I’m so, so happy to have found this place and can’t wait to go back. Thank you for such a wonderful breakfast!
To the reviewers taking away a star because there were loud kids running around when you were there—seriously? That’s on the parents, not the restaurant. How in the world is it a restaurant’s job to police patron’s kids?...
Read moreSo...I purposely waited and tried different foods from this location (Oak Park-OP) before providing a review. Initially I've had their Harbor Cobb Salad a few times which was fine and most recently the cheeseburger which was not. This was one of the worst burger's I've had in a long time. Being that I do not eat ground beef that often only doing so as a treat to myself on occasion, I was extremely disappointed. I am not trying to be mean or overly critical when I state this but I wonder if the burger is actually made of real ground beef...it certainly didn't taste like it. I went ahead and ate it because I didn't have anything else at home cooked and needed to put something on my stomach but I was completely dissatisfied. After having this experience I see that others have had the same experience after having had the burger so it's not just me. In any event, I have read others who liked this location's food so I guess to each its own. However, if you are flexible on which location to go to I highly suggest trying Elmhurst. I'm not saying their food is the best ever but the few times I've been to that one, the food was much better than the...
Read moreWe waited for 35 minutes to be seated on a Sunday, not bad except we were told 10-15. Several tables sat empty while there was a line out the door. Our server was nice, although took several minutes to get our drink orders or water, and was back to take food orders before any refreshments had come. When we requested the drinks before ordering, they came in another 5 minutes. 10 minutes after that, our food order was taken and it came 40-45 minutes later. There was a small hair in an egg yolk and fruit seeds floating in the water cups that seemed to be a little dirty. Food that came was mostly cold; hard potatoes, cold crepes, and lukewarm scrambled eggs. Atmosphere was lovely, very busy inside, with several servers and busboys. $75 bill for 4 people with no alcohol, no water refills, and lack of service besides having our...
