I don't write many reviews -- I'm generally not that picky. But I think the manicure I got this week warrants a review. First, I think it's always important to mention the pros instead of just focusing on the negative: 1. The salon was clean 2. I liked the salon's atmosphere 3. Everyone was very friendly Despite this, my manicure was the worst I've ever gotten. I got a no chip manicure for $35. The salon didn't have the nail sample wheels for its gel colors, so I had to pick my color based on a little sticker on the bottle. Because of this, I didn't end up with a color I was very happy with. I was looking for a nude, and it was much whiter than I thought based on the bottle. And the man who did my nails even confirmed with me when I asked that it was nude. My finished manicure was, frankly, just ugly. My nails weren't filed straight/smoothly and the color was applied unevenly, and so was lumpy in some places and see-through in others. There was nail polish on my skin, which I couldn't remove myself because it was gel. By the next day, several of the tips -- because they were filed and painted unevenly -- were chipped. I got my nails done because I had an interview. Frankly, I was embarrassed of how they looked and tried not to be expressive with my hands when talking. By the third day, I couldn't stand the manicure anymore, and so went and got the polish removed at another place. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to get my nails done again so soon after.

Great place to get gel x nails. Lilly and Alice are extremely detailed and will take their time. Nina is also very helpful. This is a great and clean place! EDIT : I can no longer recommend this place. For months now I have made appointments here and I have been met with 30 to hour waits for appointments I have made days / weeks in advance. Today, I showed up for my appointment on time only to see that there was one person ahead of me whose service had not even started yet. In a crunch for time I asked for another nail tech for a basic gel manicure and take off. Nail tech was extremely inexperienced and had trouble using tools. Tools also seemed to be not clean. Nail tech caused me to bleed. She did not have any disinfectant and was putting random stuff on my bleed. I am nervous this will cause an infection. They charged me 30 dollars for a gel take off and making me bleed. Some nail techs here are good and others are absolutely horrible. Avoid until they can get their stuff together here. I am truly so sad to see what has happened here.

This review is way overdue! First and foremost, I honestly can't comprehend how there are some low reviews, because "each" time that I have visited this place for a pedicure or manicure, the service (all around) has been excellent 👌! This is my go-to place for all of my nails' needs. This place is also pretty neat, clean, organized and quite cozy. Go check out Polished Nails and Day Spa! I highly recommend Polished Nails Day Spa! Everyone here also does a great job. I usually make my appointments with Johanna but walk-ins are welcome here too!

Seriously one of the most disrespectful nail establishments in Oak Park. I've lived here for quite some time and I have never felt so unvaled as a customer. I went in to get my nails done by DA. She did them terribly. It was obvious that she didn't care about giving good service to me. I got a no chip manicure, pedicure, lip, and eyebrow wax. She rushed through everything. Every time I've gotten a manicure my cuticles have been removed but for some reason DA didn't remove my cuticles. I asked her why and she said I didn't need them removed..lies, because I went home and was able to remove them myself. My pedicure smeared hours after getting my toes done. I even brought about 5 different yellow polishes to DA and told her I want my toes and nails to match. She picked two totally different yellows!! While getting my waxes she didn't clean off my skin before or after the hair removal, and did no extra plucking or cutting. I ended up breaking out on my forehead. The day after I left the salon my nails began to chip. I went in the same day (day after getting the mani pedi) and asked to get a repair. They told me DA was out of town for 10 days and they prefer for the person who did the nails to repair the nails (makes sense). Well mind you, 10 days is a long time to go back for a repair. Multiple nails have broken and cracked because of the AWFUL manicure I was given. I went back to get my nails redone and polished because I was told that they would get done with no charge by two different front desk ladies. Once I sat in DA's chair she told me she was only going to fix 3 nails! I was so confused. Why would anyone go back 10 days after getting their nails done to get only 3 nails fixed. I demanded they do my manicure over again, cuticles included, and she said she'd have to charge me because I want a different color. I said fine, I'll get the same color but my nails are grown out it's time for new nails. They refused and I left. Seriously if you go here DO NOT GO TO DA. She sits in the second chair on the left. She will do you wrong. I spent nearly $90 that day. Gave her a $15 tip and basically got crapped on. I'll never return to this place. Oh, and while I was there, a black women wanted tanning service and was denied because they told her it wouldn't work on her...HOW RUDE. She told me she's had several tans and has always been satisfied. Polished...

I came in on Friday to get a fill in and a pedicure with 3 broken nails to fix. I told the nail tech (MYRA) that I wanted to take them all off and get a new set. She (MYRA) specifically told me no that my set looked new (which it has only be two weeks) and they were fine to fill over them. I was scratching my hair Sunday and one of my nails broke off. It was after shop hours, so I didn’t bother to call. I was vacuuming my car the next day on Monday and another nail popped off. I had planned on calling them as soon as they opened on Tuesday. The next day, another nail popped off and I called the salon. The manager told me to come in and they will fix them. She gave me her personal number to send her pics of the nails. I did. I also told the manager that I couldn’t come in that day because I work and have to pick up my kid from camp directly after. I scheduled to have my nail fixed on Thursday at 4:30pm. I left work earlier and made arrangements for someone to pick my kid up from camp. When I arrived, the nail tech (MYRA) inspected my nails and asked me were these the nails that she fixed. I told her that I was not sure but she just did the fill in on Friday. She (MYRA) talked to the manager and came back and said she would have to charge me to fix the nails that I was already promised that they would fix. I told her that I asked for a new set and she said no. I spent $85 (plus $15 tip), took of work earlier, time spent, and gas to be treated so poorly. I never make reviews but today was the day because this was highly unprofessional and inconsiderate. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I wish I knew how to add pictures to show the work and the text messages from the manager saying that they would fix my nails! Let me also add that while she was doing my nails and feet, she (MYRA) was told she had a client who made an appointment. She (MYRA) rushed the paint job on my nails and feet because the other workers kept rushing her! I left disappointed but didn’t complain because I understand keeping...

I visited this place to get help getting my press-ons off. I walked in and the lady behind the desk said they can fit my in about 30 mins. I come back in 15 mins and wait in their waiting room for the rest of the 15 mins. They don’t come up to me so I brushed it off and assume they are running behind, I said what’s another 15? I’ll just look for a nail color in the meantime and search on Pinterest what design I want. I wait and 45 mins (45 mins after the 30 mins they originally mentioned), the lady behind the desk finally comes up to me and asks to see my nails. The main nail tech finally sees my nails and says that it’ll take a long time to get these off. I can take a hint and assume she wants to come back another day. I told her I can return anytime this week since I live close by and I work from home. I make my appointment for Friday in the afternoon.

Friday comes and it’s about half an hour before my scheduled appointment, I receive a call from the nail tech and she sound so upset that I answered. She told me that she couldn’t take me today because they are over booked. I calmly said no worries, some other and we hung up.

I wanted to give this place a try because they are new but I can’t know how good they are if they keep canceling on me. I am open to giving them another chance but if they make me wait more than 5 mins next time then I am never returning and not recommending to the homies. To the team at Polished Nails, please stop overbooking your team. This only creates problems with your team and the customers so please, give your team a breather between clients and book clients accordingly so we don’t spend so much time waiting after our scheduled time.

PS. I only waited that long because I had nothing...
