This spot is a classic. My family used to get cakes from here for all of our gatherings. I also come here every now and then for a sweet treat. I went in today at about 4:30 pm. They closed at 6, so I knew we'd be getting slim pickings. Most of the cases were empty or had 1-2 items left. We chose 1 slice of caramel, 1 slice of lemon, 1 chocolate chip cookie, and 1 slice of strawberry cheesecake. The total was $15.50. I wasn't offered a receipt, and I didn't ask for 1, so I don't know what the breakdown is. The cheesecake was good but so tiny. The cake slices are huge. The caramel cake was moist and not too sweet. The cake by itself was good. The caramel, however, had a weird taste. I couldn't put my finger on it but I wouldn't buy the caramel cake again. Same thing with the lemon. It was the exact same cake as the caramel. The lemon icing was not that good, though. It tastes more like vanilla and then a hint of lemon, maybe. I think I'll just stay away from the cake slices. I have ordered birthday cakes from them in the past, and the whipped cream icing on those was really good. I added a pic of a cake I got a few years ago. The 2 ladies at the counter were nice. All-in-all, a solid bakery. I'd recommend going in the mornings, though.

Well I live out of town and I visited today with a friend because I was told how good the deserts were. I went in and got some caramel cake and wanted to switch slices for a bigger more expensive slice. I Then asked the RUDE cashier with the 2 ponytails and the strawberry shortcake decor in her head if I could do so as I grabbed the cake in my hand. She proceeds with an attitude and says "idk where yo hands have been and you touched that" (mind you the cake is wrapped in plastic wrap) as if her hand are any cleaner as she stands there texting on her phone, touching the counter top and and touching things around the bakery. Then she goes right into the cake cabinet to grab items. The way in which she handle the situation was very unprofessional and demonstrated her age. Before, I touched the cake I asked if I could switch she could have said well don't touch that piece as we will not be able to switch, but did she no. The plan was to try it today and buy more varieties before leaving town. This will definitely not being occurring and I hope that the business owner takes the way there customers are being treated into consideration.

I recently ordered a cake from Laury’s based on their ratings and reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. When I first reached out, I was simply told to check their Instagram, which hadn’t been updated in a long time. Despite that, the cakes looked nice, so we decided to visit the store in person to place our order. During our visit, we clearly showed reference photos and discussed exactly what we wanted. We were assured that all decorations would be made from sugar. However, the cake we received on the morning of the event was nothing like what we had requested. The decorations were low-quality, printed, and not even edible. With no time to find a replacement, we had no choice but to accept it. When I called to address the issue, I spoke with the decorator, who was condescending and very unpleasant. After all the frustration, they only offered a partial refund for the missing decorations. Given this experience, I wouldn’t recommend ordering a custom cake from Laury’s. I try to support minority owned businesses but they need some improvements and definitely need to work on their customer service.

They ruined my granddaughter's birthday! In February an order was placed for a custom Unicorn cake, a deposit was made and the balance paid on time. This establishment still uses paper (in 2021) and is not digital, so when my daughter didn't have the tiny receipt, they had not recorded on their copy of the order form, that she had paid the balance. My daughter communicated with them several times about moving the pickup time for the cake and was accommodated, so why wouldn't they say something then? However, the day of the party (Saturday, April 11, 2021), I go to pick up the cake and was told that this custom cake was not made because she never paid the balance. I produce a picture of the order form and was told that what was written on the form (Paid) was not legitimate. WHAT? I lost it! My daughter went back today(Monday) and was told by the owner Jim that the writing on the order form was not anyone's handwriting that worked in the store. Unbelievable! I have been going to Laury's for over 40 years and I have never been so disappointed and outdone! I am hopeful that the owner will check his finances and his records and correct his unfortunate mistake. Additionally, it is time to invest in updated technology! My advice -- Don't leave without ensuring that there is absolute proof of purchase. I don't believe that this is the first time that this happened, the person that took the payment was an older woman who dropped the ball. JIM...
