ShouFi MahFi Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Oak Ridge

We went to this shopping center on a whim while in Orlando because of the anime shop nearby that my daughter wanted to go to. We searched for a place to grab lunch nearby and this place popped up. We didn’t go at the time but bookmarked it to check out later, and I’m so glad we did. We went today after a hot afternoon at Universal and it was just delicious and totally hit the spot. The space was clean with tables both inside as well as a couple outside. The gentleman who took our order was so friendly and welcoming. He did warn us that once we tried the food we would have a hard time finding anything else as good when we went back home. He was so right. Everything was just delicious. My partner had the chicken shawarma platter with a side salad, and I got the fried cauliflower wrap with a cheese pie on the side as well as hummus for my daughter. The portions of the platter were huge! My partner ate two servings from it and there was still some leftover for a small dinner later for me. The cauliflower wrap was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of buttery garlic flavor. I let my 11 year-old try some and ended up having to share it with her because she loved it so much. We were on a pleasure visit to Florida and wanted to try a Mediterranean food. This restaurant reviews on google were 4.9 out of 5 which made my expectations high as sky. So we came in and ordered Beef kabob platter, lamb kabobs platter, cheese pie, and chicken shawarma. The lamb kabobs were really good, juicy and tender. The beef on the other hand were dry and flavorless. Chicken shawarma was on ok side. Cheese pie was also just ok. The rice given to us were white rice and I have seen it rarely seen white rice in Mediterranean food. Also they charged us extra for not paying on cash. I seriously don’t understand this mentality of small businesses, first they want customers to support them and then they charge customers without informing them on something that is very common across US. I mean who keeps cash in their pocket nowadays. Anyways not a restaurant I would like to come back. Just ok experience for me.

Terrible experience – owner was extremely rude

I placed a pick-up order through Amenify, a platform linked to my apartment complex (kind of similar to DoorDash). Shoufi Mahfi was listed as a participating restaurant, and I got a confirmation and receipt — the money was taken from my account.

When I arrived, the girl at the front (who was very kind) said there was no order. The manager was also polite and helpful, and called the owner to figure it out. That’s when things went downhill — the owner got on the phone and immediately became rude and confrontational.

He claimed they haven’t used Amenify in two years and insisted I couldn’t have ordered through them, even though I had clear proof. He kept repeating, “I’m not getting paid for that food,” and refused to fulfill the order. I explained I wasn’t trying to cause problems — I just wanted the food I paid for — but he kept yelling and told me to contact Amenify myself.

The owner’s attitude was completely unprofessional, and frankly, it’s not my responsibility to fix the fact that their restaurant is still listed on a platform they apparently stopped using.
