This is one of the best places that I've ever gone.
Environment - Do not half abandoned strip mall fool you. It's about what is inside that makes the difference. They bring the japaese influence inside. Japanese deco on the walls and over the lights . Moveable seperating dividers. The music that is paying overhead is traditional japanese music for the genre that is playing, think of it as there was the live solo singer that's playing in the older movies. Longer drawn out style, perfect to sit and relax to. As for the for the sushi bar is like any other I've seen. Everything clearly displayed but still wrapped for fresh and cleanliness. The waitress staff is dressed in traditional kimono style. The chef is also in kimono style also. The only persons that wasn't was the kitchen staff. Coming out to check on things every once and awhile. The wait staff was polite. Even making sure to point out everything on the plate and bowl to be sure it's there and what I ordered. Speaking of polite, knowing a tad bit of the language and culture, I noticed, everyone on staff greets everyone as they come in and as they leave. Always asking to grab your attention to be sure its okay for anything to be moved. Being here was just wonderful.
Food - Ordered a pork udon noodle bowl, and two rolls. Everything was very prompt and came out quickly. For only 3 parties in here, from order the food on the table, 12 min for noodles, 15 min with sushi. Everything was delicious. The soup was creamy but not tasting full of fat. The chili pepper power they put aside to add was amazing to add if your a person who loves spice.
One thing I try to notice are the people coming in. You have the native speakers coming in. They come in. Immediately speak with the staff and seat themselves. You have the regulars come in. You know they eat here regually, ready to order and quick in and out but you know the staff stays for a second to speak with them and see how they are doing. There was one person just browsing. She hadn't been here. Staff was more than happy to answer questions. Even though they didn't order, she stopped by one of the tables to get a second glance of one of the menus.
This is one of the most authentic places I've ever been to. Such...

Read moreWe looked at the Google and yelp reviews before going here for my birthday last night, and they were all great, so we wanted to experience it ourselves. ABSOLUTELY COME HERE IF YOU ARE IN ORLANDO. We fell in love with this little restaurant immediately. I felt like I was in Japan, a little slice of the country here in the US. This is a family place and has been around for years. We could not get a table, but had just as awesome of an experience at the sushi bar. It was mesmerizing to watch the sushi chefs prepare the orders. The waitresses, short of one, were all part of the family and all beautiful and adorable in their kimonos. We were so happy to be able to practice a little Japanese as well, and they were happy to help us learn a few new things also. The food was amazing! Everything was so fresh! The service was phenomenal. We ordered a sushi combo to share, and my husband had a rice bowl, and I had a ramen bowl. We ordered the ice cream tempura for dessert, and my husband conspired with them and they came out and sang happy birthday as well. It was wonderful. A super special experience.
On a side note, half the patrons during our time there were Japanese, always a good sign. We sat next to a married couple at the bar who live local, and the husband works across the street and had been going there for over 15 years for lunch a few times a week. So yeah they've been around a nice long time with a regular clientele.
