BevMo! — Restaurant in Oakland

I generally never leave negative reviews, but this place is flagrantly bad and deserving to be highlighted. The daytime staff in this place is consistently dishing out the rudest most unprofessional treatment. There's an older lady there with long black hair that will berate you if you approach her requesting an unlock. And then if you go to the front counter to request the unlock, you will be berated by a 350lb+ African American woman who will chastise you for not asking somebody on the floor for the unlock. So you're damned if you do and damned if you don't in this place. You have to walk on eggshells just to be a paying customer in this place.

The daytime staff's only saving grace is the older African American gentleman who is always very courteous and customer service oriented, unlike the other several very rude associates in the store.

The night time staff is the only thing that grants this place any stars. Britney who is always attending the front counter is the nicest person and is always a bright spot in my day due to her wonderful attitude and strong customer service.

I would recommend don't ever go to this place in the daytime because the chances of you being treated incredibly rude are very high.

PS. This store also has a track record of super unprofessional security guards lurking around being threatening to paying customers and causing more trouble than good.

I placed an online order and it was ready slightly early. The staff there are wonderful. Mike helped me load the car with my (large) order and also helped me make sure the whole order was in tact.

We had a large party and ended up overbuying. I called and Larnel was super helpful to arrange a return. I returned a bunch of stuff and Larnell (same gentleman that answered the phone) helped me process the (slightly messy) return. He was so patient and kind.

Also, the woman working the register both times I went by was super nice, welcoming, helpful. The security staff there are welcoming and kind as well.

The store is clean and organized, the snack section has literally every snack imaginable, and the location is perfect right in Jack London square on the water.

Lastly, the Gopuff ordering from this place is almost impossibly fast and efficient and affordable 10/10 can’t recommend it enough!

Huge thank you to Larnell and Mike for making what seemed like a stressful/daunting task for my event be a positive and pleasant experience. Whoever does hiring here knows what they are...

For about 5 years, I’ve spent $300-$400 a week at BevMo embarcadero for a local club. Suddenly, they no longer supply standard size shopping carts, only the tiny double decker type. I’d need 10 of them. When I mentioned that and asked to borrow a flatbed cart from the back (there were at least 5 lined up not being used) I was told, “I guess you better make 10 trips.” And it was said in a rude manner, she didn’t hold back the hatred at all.

I guess I’ll take my money to a real store with shopping carts where I’m not verbally attacked.

Update: like a fool, I tried again.

For several years, the registers haven’t worked due to “internet is out”.

Several. Years.

Other stores in the same building have never had a problem. Other BevMos don’t have this problem. Buy a router already.

So I put in an order with the BevMo app. There were items in the store that weren’t on the app, so I simply couldn’t buy them. Employees’ hands were tied, no way to help me. How is that smart business? Or business at all?

Then I got no confirmation email or a receipt...
