This was my first time going to a Buffalo's restaurant. We had to wait for a bit (busy time of day), but the other people waiting provided entertainment. But once inside, the ambiance and staff were spot on.
From the decorations, I figured their theme was "wild west ranching". I could be wrong because they had stuffed farm animals (a stuffed buffalo head of course), and equipment used for plowing fields, but also gold panning/mining equipment.
Waitress was sweet and fast. She took our drink order and it seemed that I blinked twice and there the drinks were. She was either very good at her job, or was a witch. Either way, it works.
Now this was my first time at a Buffalo's, so I didn't know what to order. I have seen their commercials but I was having a brain fart kind of day. I was expecting more buffalo items on the menu like buffalo meat burgers or buffalo meat steak. There were burgers, beef burgers. But Buffalo's is known for their chicken wings... er... buffalo wings. Like I said, I was in full brain fart mode and completely forgot. I went with a chicken finger snack basket (4 chicken fingers and Cole slaw, could get chips, but I went with slaw). Again, service was great and the food came out fast. Not instantly like the drinks, but fast enough that we didn't lose any weight waiting on the food.
Now, the chicken fingers were tender and juicy. The sauce (there's like a thousand choices in different heat ranges) was just the standard honey mustard and was delish.
The Cole slaw is a different story. It came in a deep fried, edible bowl (I love deep fried (insert whatever here)). The Cole slaw itself, I was not a fan of. The cabbage was shredded but they left the stem in. Cabbage stems are very dense and hard. I tried one and didn't make a dent in it so I picked the rest of the stems out (about 6 pieces). They were small, but still, ya just can't eat them. Maybe my brain fart had an effect on my taste buds also because I just did not like the taste. I won't say what I tasted, I'll let you try it and decide for yourself, apparently loads of people like their Cole slaw, they've been serving it for a long time now. So maybe it was just my brain that day.
With service the way it was, I'm sure we'll go back. I didn't hear anyone else complain about...
Read moreIt is obvious that they don't look at their reviews to see what concerns their customers have. I have reviewed this business in the past and gave them 4 stars, after last night, they are 2 stars. I live in Athens and haven't been here in a while so I'm not sure if it's Under New Management. But last night when I placed an order at 9:30pm, I got there at 10:00pm and my order still wasn't ready. My order wasn't ready until 10:10 pm. I ordered a wing dinner and two kids meals, that shouldn't take 40 minutes to make. The restaurant wasn't busy. The staff nor the manager were very friendly or attentive. On top of that I paid for a 16 piece wing dinner and they gave me a 12-piece wing dinner. It's not just that they didn't give me 4 wings, it's the price difference of almost $5. The 12-piece is $18.99 and the 16-piece is $23.49. The price for the food I ordered it was not cheap so I expect to get everything I ordered. They knew that I lived in Athens when I pick the order up so you think that they might want to double-check and make sure that they gave me a 16 piece and not a 12-piece. Buffalo's is my favorite place to get buffalo wings from. We unfortunately do not have a buffalo's cafe anymore and Athens. So anytime I am up in this area I will get it to go order. I will be going out of my way to find another Buffalo's Cafe. In the past I've had good experiences at this Buffalo's Cafe and was very disappointed with this visit. I doubt I will return here again and sadly would not recommend this...
Read moreUse to be one of my favorite places but the food has gradually been going down hill for the past year or two. Some of the staff are great but others are clearly lazy, do not really listen to your order, the cook doesn't pay attention to the tickets. Things come out way over cooked, dry, or simply not what you asked for at all. On top of that the pricing has gone up more then double. If they could get back into shape then yes I would come back to give a better rating!
Since stating the above review things have indeed gotten a lot better!!!!
Update..... months later food is still pretty bad, probably getting worse sadly. Things are over cooked badly. From sandwiches to wings to rice bowls. The staff is friendly but weird and seems constantly like they don't know what is going on or whats really offered. They say one thing to your face and when your food comes it isn't what they say is offered in the dish. Not sure if it is the cook.... which the food is definitely pushing below mediocre..... or the lack or training or both. Its like drinkin bar food from a pretty bad bar 😅. Only reason I have an update is because we did once very much so like this place and second we will only give it a try again when kids eat free on Sundays. Honestly I would stay clear of this place unless you like to play pool and get drunk without taste buds. When we get our togo box and the check is in it that has literally been on every table and in everyone's hands. Just confused why you would put it inside my...
