Annie's Carousel — Restaurant in Ocean City

ALLERGY REVIEW As someone with a food allergy, I was horrified at my service here. I let the staff know of my allergy when ordering my flavors and asked if it would be an issue. I've never received such a rude response - the woman snapped at me, "well how am I supposed to know what's in it" and stormed off, huffing audibly. She returned and thrust a carton of ice cream through the window at me and said "here, read it yourself". I was so shocked I declined ordering anything. Not only was her behavior horribly rude, but I felt too unsafe to eat anything from a food establishment who is that uninformed about how to look for allergens and how to serve a customer who has them (reading a label, clean gloves, fresh spoon, scoop from the back, etc.). We've been going to Annie's Carousel for years. Being only a few blocks away, this is our local ice cream place in OCNJ. It's a family owned and operated establishment with the friendliest husband and wife team. As long as you like ice cream, they will definitely have a flavor that you like. They have so many flavors, they almost put that Baskin company to shame, lol.

My only complaint is they're not open all year because even in the winter time, my girls want to go to Annie's when we're down at the shore house. 😀

Great little spot for some neighborhood ice cream. Small store without too much fluff. Simple, basic, and just ice cream and toppings. Their flavors were good and available a plenty. Lots of guys behind the counter waiting to take your order so if there is a line, it can move quickly. The one thing that threw me off at first was that it is cash only.
