Ocean City... big... huge!!
Not sure if this is two amusement parks surrounded by a city or a city with two amusement parks.
Regardless of which one fits the description best, the one thing everyone should know is, the place is big!
So if you think, this is a weekend thing, think again... because it will probably take you a whole weekend just to park the car and make it to the main drag!
All joking aside though, there’s no way you can do this place in just two days. A three day weekend would probably be more suitable and if you have a medium size family, make sure you put the ibuprofen in your bag.
And did I mention the place is huge? Well, let me tell you, it’s humongous! And with so much to do, see and eat, you’ll be saying... awwww why me!
So hope your kids will go easy on you. And if the ibuprofen doesn’t work after a day of “I want this, I want that... awww and I want this... no, not that, this... but daddy you promised..and I want it now...” well if the ibuprofen doesn’t quite work, a bottle of vodka and a straw should take the migraine away... at least for a few hours or until dinner time when it will, for sure, start all over again!
And hey, Labor Day is just around the corner, so this is the perfect time to start planning your trip. And one thing is for sure; this is, one end-of-summer vacation your kids and bank account are not bound to...
Read moreWe love this venue and have seen many professional performances there and also the theater shows put on by the Ocean City theater Company. My one complaint is that the Ocean City music pier when they have their professional concert series, don’t use the monitors at the right and the left of the stage. It’s very hard to be a short person anywhere but especially all the way in the back (and since the seats are not on tiers) as sometimes depending on who is seated in front of you, the performers are not at all visible. I recently “saw” Bernadette Peters here but unfortunately could not see her. It’s frustrating that there are 2 large monitors that aren’t utilized. They do use the monitors for the children shows and I’m just curious why they don’t for the adult professional shows. Other than that, we...
Read more12/06/01, My wife and I got engaged under this pier. It was an unusual warm day for December so I saw it as the right opportunity. I put my guitar in the back seat and my girlfriend & I drove down from Philadelphia. Under the pier we sat on a blanket while I played the song Wonderful Tonight. Then I got down on one knee and told her that I wasn’t sure if we’d ever have any money or where we would end up, but I promised to love her for the rest of my life. Today we are still very happily married! We have a wonderful home in New Jersey and have been blessed with 4 beautiful children. We visit this pier often and have with our children as well. It still looks the same and we love that! Ocean City is our family...
